Gas prices are a main culprit: Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they disapprove of the way the president is handling the situation at the pump, where rising prices have already hit hard. Just 26 percent approve of his work on the issue, his lowest rating in the poll. Most Americans say higher prices are already taking a toll on family finances, and nearly half say they think that prices will continue to rise, and stay high.

Friday’s employment report showed a gain of 227,000 jobs in the past month, continuing an upward trend and offering the White House something positive to point to. Still, the survey — conducted Wednesday through Saturday — finds 59 percent of Americans giving Obama negative ratings on the economy, up from early last month. Now, 50 percent give him intensely low marks, the most yet in a Post-ABC News poll, and a jump of nine percentage points.

The election is over seven months away. The Republican Party hasn't even selected a candidate. Talk to me about polls in the middle of October.

This is a forum where several wished death to a talk show host, some opined that Palin is the c-word, and similar niceties. If we're going to look for trash on the forum, that's where we might look instead of obsessing over Riddler posting excerpts from such sources as the Washington Post in this thread and the NY Times in another. Who wished death to a "talk show host"? Palin is a cunt and given that you regularly support the worst possible things said about President Obama, your feigned outrage is humorous at best.

Having met Sarah Palin and spoken with her several times prior to and after her Vice Presidential run, I personally didn't find her to be a "cunt". I'll have to, however, defer to your judgement on the matter, since who better to know one "cunt" than another "cunt" ? After all, as every child in the schoolyard knows, "it takes one to know one".

I'm never amazed at how quickly the "tolerant" left seeks the lowest level of discourse all while calling for civility from the right. As for calling out someone for "feigned outrage", you've yet to examine your own hypocrisy with the same microscope you so ably use on others.

    It gets worse.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/post/obama-has-more-problems-than-gas-prices/2012/03/12/gIQAjz0U7R_blog.html

The new Post-ABC poll shows that “46 percent approve of the way Obama is handling his job; 50 percent disapprove. That’s a mirror image of his 50 to 46 positive split in early February. The downshift is particularly notable among independents — 57 percent of whom now disapprove — and among white people without college degrees, with disapproval among this group now topping approval by a ratio of more than 2 to 1, at 66 versus 28 percent.” . . . Obama also has a substantial problem with independents. The Post’s pollster tells me that Obama trails Mitt Romney 42-50 among independents; against Rick Santorum he trails by a smaller margin, 45 to 48 percent.

It is a common election year ploy, the prices go up and then when the election get closer, they go down again, so you think the people in office are doing their job...happens all the time, its constantly played with..much like October surprises...don't believe many things, its all political spin..

And yet Romney's unfavorable ratings are still underwater compared to Obama's.

Just today Schumer defends Maher because he is "on at 11:00 at Night". Guess with the Limbaugh show on earlier in the day it is a big difference because of all the 5 year olds tuned in. Guess that million dollars is real important to them.

Newsflash to Americans: the President does not control gas prices, regardless of which party he is in. That's why people should not have been foolishly buying gas-guzzling SUVs for the last 15 years. Hybrids and high-milage vehicles have been on the market for years, but people continue to buy tanks and then whine when the gas prices go up (as it inevitably does).
Why our country continues to allow irresponsible suburban sprawl is another story...the car-based lifestyle that requires every man woman and child to drive everywhere is not sustainable.
Maybe it's time people take responsibility for their own actions instead of always looking for someone else to blame?

    Spot on!

The Government should immediately commence a programme to build 80-story hi-rise apartments collocates around terraced green commons with solar water concentrators on the roof-tops, low flush toilets and pressure constricted showers on 2-minute timers.

And it should seize all privately owned ceviches and melt them down to be re-cycled into a massive light rail system.

    Right?

Approve Keystone and similar and see what happens to prices within a few months.

This is a trap of the left where you go down the road of "calling them out on the immorality" of slur speech. They do this to anyone who has a political difference with them.

Know that it really is not about morals, its about what ever does the greater good.

So if it serves the purpose of talking about Palin in that way ( Oh well).

With rising energy costs making it more expensive to drive our cars, heat our homes, and fuel our sputtering economy, many Republicans are criticizing the Obama administration for a failure to adopt a comprehensive energy policy. I believe that critique lets the president off too easily. His administration does have a national energy policy—it's just a subservient by-product of his radical environmental policy.

This administration willfully ignores rational choices that would lower energy prices and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign energy sources. ...

I do not think Liberalism is a thought disorder.

Its more a way of thinking. They think in less absolute terms, and more emotionally about the incident.

Case in point, the silly boy who made a Palin effigy and hung it in West Hollywood.

interesting the dirth of outcry, some from the Democratic party who pushed for a anti- noose law only years ago during the Bush years. ( during a ratial incident in the south). Not a peep about the Palin effigy from Henry Waxman.

some said the hangmans noose applied to blacks, ( silence after Egyptian gay teens showed hanged in 2004)

Note : when a few locals asked the ? if the Palin exhibit would violate such a anti-noose ( proposed law) the Palin statue came down.
Henry Waxman: no comment, ( why did your congressional committee propose an anti-noose law in 2008 if you have nothing to say about a hangman's noose in the same year?

( and the Palin guy moved to North Hollywood.)

The administration's goal is to raise prices in order to decrease our dependence on oil... should'nt we have an alternative BEFORE doing this? Without a true alternative, doing this will just cause our economy to stagnate
