Just looking for somewhere new to use to stock up on nuts and seeds.... buying every few weeks from the market, I'm spending shitloads of money.

They are not organic, and probably not the best quality either.

So does anyone have a good UK supplier of quality nuts and seeds?

I get mine from ethnic shops where they are much cheaper than supermarkets or health shops.

My grandma says not to buy nuts in bulk because they go rancid after a certain amount of time. I think some faster than others. I had some oldish pecans in an airtight jar, and when eating them with ice cream one day, a couple of them were smooshy like play-doh.

I hope you eat them quickly!

This has been an issue with me for the past couple years. The worst part is when I find the nuts I want, then the supermarket stops carrying them a few weeks later.

Right now I'm having all kinds of trouble finding raw Brazil nuts and sea-salted pistachios.

Yeah, I do this sometimes - they are not always cheeper than the market I go to.

I recently tried sprouting the sunflower and pumpkin seeds from the market.... zero, ziltch, nothing al all.

They must be irradiated and inert!

Health food shops are just a con realy - tiny packets of overpriced nuts and seeds.

I'm also not sure about the quality - at the market or at the shop. Neither are organic or 'raw' - most would be considerd rancid by strict definiation.

I cant wait to have enough space to have walnut, hazel, chestnut and almond trees... nothing like straight from the source for nutrition?

Got some sunflowers growing from seeds now, ironicly from the seeds we feed the birds, but not likely to have enough seeds to last the year once they grow.... its worth a try though I think.

Yeah, they do not keep indefinatly unless sealed airtight and in the dark.

I eat them quick enough.... maybe a kilo of seeds/nuts every 2 weeks.
