http://www.scribd.com/fullscreen/85113774Compared to four years ago, is your family’s financial situation better today, worse today, or about the same? The survey finds 20 percent say better today, 37 percent say worse today, and 43 percent say “about the same.”

For the majority of Americans to say they are not better off than 4 years ago is silly. Sounds like the folks don't think things have improved. Unemployment rate still high. Whatever you want to say is official, fact is many have stopped looking and are not counted. Gas prices doubled and many don't have the option of riding their bicycles. But these folks are obviously confused and don't understand how much better things are. When the stupid, little people who cling to their guns and their religion don't say what the liberals want them to say, they are so confused. The inconvenient truth is they will vote. What a bummer!

Polls hardly reflect reality. Why I don`t doubt that 80% thing may be true, it`s ridiculous to think that a generalized set of numbers is actually an accurate portrayal of the financial realities of most Americans today.

Be honest, John. You want them "confused" or misinformed. It benefits your party and ideology. If you didn't have a decent portion of Americans not paying attention to politics, not having a good grounding in civics, and not having the time or education to think critically about what is being reported to them by the (largely) corporate media. Unemployment rate is, indeed, still high and I agree with you that letting people fall off the rolls prevents an accurate picture. But more jobs have been created in the last 3.25 years than during the entire Bush administration. Further, I have a car and know that the American president does not control gas prices. Keystone will not lower them. We've increased drilling 350% since Obama took office and it's had no bearing on the price of gas. Finally, I, and many other progressives, am religious and am fine with people owning fire arms. What we're not okay with is anyone being able to get a semi-automatic weapon on the spur of the moment.

That's the second or third time in the past few days you've posted something that is downright nasty to me and totally uncalled for. Are you trying to get me to notice that you exist? Well, I guess it worked, but I won't be paying you any more attention. Anyway, the "inaccurate information" you refer to comes from CBS News and The New York Times, so address your complaint to them.

In discussions with a few liberals over the past several months, I was amazed at how little they knew about current events. Not concerned about the 20% who call themselves liberals, or further left; they may be familiar with current events, but still driven by their ideology.

How accurate. Perhaps your elections should run that way. 1) To paraphrase your good friend "Colonel" Deco as he always remarks when "foreigners" comment on USA issues - "mind your own business." 2) Most polls use a sample size of about 1,000 respondents.

Your first point is entirely ignored, and our relatives in the US laugh at you. Point 2 should tell you about those polls' inaccuracies.

The scary part of what you said is no, i think he actually believes what he says. you just have to keep exposing him and his radical progressive belief Ahhh... CJ. You so much to say knowing that I blocked you so long ago and rarely see you ridiculous ravings. jock_1: Let me given you a hint about something. CJ claims to be extremely wealthy. I think the jury's still out on whether or not he is or just some nut. That said, neither he, nor Riddler, nor SB are at all interested in your well being. They don't care about Wisconsin. They only care about one thing: money. Everything else they say or write is a smokescreen for their inherent and unrelenting greed. They are not patriotic. They are not "worried about the Constitutionality of healthcare reform." In SB's case, he rails against unions while owing his own healthcare, retirement and other benefits to a union. Riddler hates socialism but lives in a socialist country. A perfect example is this: They all know that the president doesn't control gas prices, or even have any real influence on them. But, they are happy that most Americans do not realize this so it can be used against Obama. They know Keystone will not create jobs or lower the price of gas, but they use it as a wedge against Obama. SB in particular boarders on being a "birther" half the time and will post the most ridiculous and obvious lies about Obama. Why? Some people think they're racists. I don't. Some people think they're plants pretending to be gay. I don't. I think, based on all my interactions, that it's very simple. People with their incomes and assets are paying some of the lowest tax burdens in the history of the Republican and they do not want to pay a penny more. And, each of the presidential candidates they support will lower their taxes and raise mine and yours.
