This would be my first android phone then.

Planning to buy something fancy in between 400-500$. I've been thinking about Samsung Infuse and Samsung Galaxy S Plus. The S Plus is more lightweight with more cpu power, but data rate is lower comparing to Infuse. however Infuse is huge and i'm concerned about its battery.

There some other HTC runner ups such as Rhyme and Incredible S. Sensation is nice but i would love Sensation XE more, which is over my budget.

So i know this topic is old but what are ur ideas?

I got the Droid Razr Maxx about a month ago.
    great phone.
the increased battery is really good - it lasts alot longer than the droidX i had before it.
4G is real fast on this also... cannot say enough about it

SGS2 or Galaxy Nexus. Anything else is already a few generations behind. You are going to need a bit more than $500 tho.

    SAMSUNG GALAXY S2
    SAMSUNG GALAXY NEXUS

I need a phone but I don't want to get one. I worked for Verizon for a year...so I know better.

I think The New phone from ATT the infuse or something like that. I believe it is 4g.

Wait till the android 4.0 phones start coming out. Phone makers are terrible at keeping their current phones up to date.

My suggestion is to read this thread and send any questions you have to the OP.

Got my hand on an s2 and was so fascinated. I'm getting this one, and this is gonna hurt my saving a little bit more and i hope it should be worth it.

I would say go for a decent Andorid that is :

    Galaxy S2

Wait for Galaxy S3 its one notch higher then Galaxy Nexus

Cant wait still then Galaxy Note! but its slightly broad/wider and unease on hand.

I got the Droid RAZR. Not the Maxx, unfortunately, but it's still a great phone and I would get it all over again.

From conversations I've had with the customer reps at US Cellular, the user experience with lower end Android phones is not that great. I've been very happy with my HTC Desire, which was the best Android phone they had when I got it; the only downside is too little memory on the phone for apps.

Finally got my S2. This phone is so great, so thin and data transfer rate is really nice, much better than the galaxy S. The camera is not as good as iphone 4's but also very nice! Loving it.

Got the HTC Wildfire S, in love with it, although I would say if you're looking for something with high performance and memory, to go up to the Desire S.
The Wildfire is a good basic all purpose phone but I manage my life on it and the spec's aren't high enough, will go with a Desire S.

So if you're going HTC worth keeping that in mind.

Regarding battery life, keep in mind that these phones are mini-computers, they won't have the battery life of a Nokia 3210, I charge mine every day and don't expect it last any longer than that.
Just keep an eye on what functions you leave running.
