Is anyone watching? I've enjoyed the two episodes so far, there's a gay character and it's a well-developed character so you guys should check it out. Besides, the title pissed off some conservative bitches so that's another reason to watch and support the show icon_lol.gif

It's like Mean Girls... 15 years later. You can catch up on Hulu.

I started watching it this week. It's such a bitchy show I love it.

Kristin Chenoworth is great in the show and I love Amanda's mother, she's fierce ! Especially liked when she got that shotgun out of her cupboard and cocked it !

    It is a funny show.

While I was watching it last Sunday, my next door neighbor showed his displeasure for my excessive loling by banging on the wall.

I'd been looking forward to this starting, since Kristin Chenoweth started talking about it months ago (when it was going to be called "Good Christian Belles"). I confess I was a little disappointed in the pilot, but episode 2 definitely picked up and was more the show I was expecting.

And as for Mark Deklin... Anything he wants!

Meh... I saw the first episode and it was aiiiiight!! Not really my cuppa .. too much drama esp the "OMG look what bitch she is!!" .. I'm allergic to drama.. I watched coz I wanted to see Kristin Chenoworth. She is a naturally funny gal in interviews.

I am loving the portrayal of Southern Belle/Texan social culture. Everything really is bigger in Texas, including the drama apparently. It has many hilarious parts too, and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Chenoweth is probably my favorite character on the show, but there's quite a bit of eyecandy as well.

I watched the first two episodes, and it's kinda fun. One question, though: is this an accurate portrayal of southern Christian culture? My background is upper crusty Princeton NJ, and to me, the characters on this show are almost like they're from another planet.

And friend suggested I watched it, so I gave it a try. I was surprised it was as funny as it is. We'll see how long they can keep it fresh. I definitely rings true of how the supposed church crowd tends to behave, although it's amped up for tv and by the factor of the characters being for the most part well to do.

I think the television adage as 'put ordinary people in an interesting situation and you get a season, put interesting people in an ordinary situation and you get renewed'

This will take my desperate housewives void very well. I think the characters so far are great and the well thought out presentation of the gay character and his wife is quite unique and so-far has been handled believably.

But yes, Amanda's mother Gigi is stealing the show for me so far! Love her!

I am from the south and yes, it is accurate... that's why I laughed so hard...

I'm going to hate myself for knowing this, but as soon as I watched the first episode and saw her mom I was like "OH SHIT SHE WAS THE FUNNY ONE ON DESIGNING WOMEN"

At first I only watched the show because the christian/religious sheep of this country were up in arms about it.

But I actually thought it was funny! icon_redface.gif

Really enjoy the show, although it is a little... over the top, but if it doesn't make you laugh, it probably hitting to close to home.

Just catching up on some of the episodes.

It is absolutely horrible - full of Dallas/Highland Park/Turtle Creek/Texas stereotypes. It is SO BAD, it is great. And cleverly written. I LOVE it. And although I am mainly from Houston, I have enough background with Dallas to know that it is based on real Texas stereotypes. Really funny! Love all the actors. Annie Potts, Kristen Chenoweth, and Leslie Bibb are wonderful. An love the gay themes also.

Sadly this one has sucked me in. Eric Winter being on the last episode did not help matters icon_redface.gif I was legitimately upset when I thought Amanda was dumping him for real.

i've been loving it! I actually make a point of being home to watch it every Sunday evening! (I tried to get my parents to watch it but made the mistake of telling them what GCB stood for. Now, like good conservative morons, they won't go near it on "principle". My aunts and grandmother love it though, hahah!)

Thanks for posting - I haven;'t seen it yet because I could not remember the name (yeah Betty White and I are very old) - just remembered it was some initials. Will try it out.
