This was featured at the end of Ellen Degeneres show yesterday.

there is another thread on this. I think this is awful making such a beloved show a comedy. Intense dislike and hate for what Tim Burton did

I think it looks great, wonderful cast. This may be one of those occasions where if you don't know the origin you'll like it much more because you can separate the two creations as independent.

I was really hoping they would stick with the original darker approach, as opposed to comedy. I like Eva Green though!

I'm all kinds of mixed up on this. When I was a kid, the local station was running the original Dark Shadows in the afternoons and I loved them. I enjoyed The House of Dark Shadows movie. I even enjoyed the 90's remake.

Now I see this trailer and the brooding gothic has been thrown out of the window. I like Burton and I like Johnny Depp. I like comedies. So I have my fingers crossed.

Of course, Jonathan Frid will always be the man or in this case vampire.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no no!

I was REALLY hoping for a dark vibe, not some parody. This was far and away my favorite show when I was a kid. I would race home every day from school for it. Extremely disappointed . . .

I just added the original series to my instant Que on shitflix.
I never saw it and looking forward to it now.

However it comes out I'm sure it will be deranged in some way with Tim Burton at the helm.

I agree that it should have been done with a serious dark vibe.
It does look like a parody which I think can go 0 to lame in 10 mins.
    hope not

    Never heard of this before.

I love pretty much anything tim burton does. His style is right up my alley in every regard.

I wont say I loved 'Alice', but there were parts of it I thought were quite effective. I think he certainly brings his own flavour to any of the things he films, but then that's all any artist does really, I wouldn't want to see him remake something and change nothing

Well I can't say that I did'nt look foreward to a version closer the the first but I've learned to expect that they will almost always change something if not everything in a remake.I do however think what I seen in the trailer was pretty funny.icon_biggrin.gif
