Sooo, just feeling around down there when a felt something i'm not sure was there before, it's like a lump, separate from both testicles in my scrotum...It's not painful, or very big or hard, it's just soft and kinda narrow. So could it just be a cord or something? I've never investigated it before. But rarely I sometimes get like a painful pulling sensation from like my testicles to my belly button. Like I'm tightening a rope and it hurts. Could it be serious? I'm only 19... And i'm too scared to go to the doctor...

Kristoff saidAnd i'm too scared to go to the doctor...

You're likely already scared to some degree, so might as well go to the doctor, who can help you to REDUCE your fear. You can't get a definitive answer on the Internet, this requires a physical examination. And while you're at the doctors, learn about how to perform a testicular self-exam (TSE), just as women are told how to do a breast exam to look for lumps.

And consider this - if someone online WERE to tell you this could be serious, would you still refuse to see a doctor? Logic says you should just go have it checked out by a health professional, because dragging your feet can make a truly serious condition that much worse. And testicular cancer has an excellent cure rate when caught early.

BTW, testicular cancer, though rare, is the most common cancer in males aged 15-35. You CAN get it at 19. Here's a site geared to teenagers on the topic:

Definitely cancer. Go to the doctor right away. If not you may end up losing both balls and your dick and you'll have to pee like a chick.

Kristoff, going to the doctor is just like coming out. You freak out before you do it, and after the fact you think, "What was all that fuss about?"

Go to the doctor and feel better.

Get over it. There's nothing to be scared of.

exactly. that "rare" pain you sometimes feel can turn into regular, constant, unbearable pain very quickly.

Yeah get it checked out. It's probably nothing to worry about, but you won't know until you head to the doc.

    Hi Kristoff,

It sounds like it may be epididymitis, since you mentioned that the lump is separate from the testicles. It's when there is inflammation in the epididymis, causing it to feel bumpy or hard. Typically a course of antibiotics takes the swelling down.

That being said, you still need the doctor to examine it to make sure that's what it is and not anything more serious, or to even get the antibiotic prescription. I understand if you're finding it difficult to go to a new doctor, especially if you've experienced the "silent disapproval/disdain" coming from a straight doctor when you've had to talk about a gay topic.....been there, it's not fun. You may be able to find a doctor near you who is gay or gay friendly at the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. http://www.glma.org/

    Hope it helps icon_smile.gif

Go to a Doctor and not to people who can't see it and examine it, let alone a majority of non-medicially trained strangers online. When it comes to medical concerns, see a doctor and befriend on on the side.

Aww..it could be nothing at all to something serious. Given your age it's most likely nothing serious but you still have to see a doc to be sure.

If I were close by I'd drag you in the car and take you myself, but you can always make your boyfriend or a close friend do that icon_smile.gif

A long time ago, I took guitar lessons from an outstanding musician. He was in his 20s. Noticed a lump. Waited. Finally diagnosed - it was cancer. Tried some alternative medicine for a while. Finally got serious. One or both testicles were removed, but it had spread and he died. Get it checked out now.

I would go to the doctor but I had something similar too.. It turned out to be a hydrocele... Nothing serious... The only way to correct is surgery if they dont go away on their alone but insurance wont cover it cause they consider it cosmetic surgery.. lol

You're such a pussy that you don't deserve to have testicles. Go to the doctor.

That definitely doesn't sound like testicular cancer or epididymitis, the most likely thing is a varicocele (a dilated blood vessel) or a hydrocele (a fluid collection). Both of them are benign and usually don't require treatment unless they become painful.

However, you should go see your doc, just like everyone else has said, so a definitive diagnosis can be made and a followup plan. Really stupid to be scared of seeing someone. If it's something serious, it's serious whether you see your doc or not.

Buddy! Doctors see these things all the time. That's what they're there for. You can have this sorted out in a few minutes at the doctor's rooms or you can worry yourself sick for weeks. Go see your doc.

Worse thing to do is look on the internet for answers and ask these people. Go see the doctor. Under the hippa law they can not provide anyone other than you information about your health. Take care!

No ones got the answer except the Dr who checks it out. Don't be an idiot. Go see the Doc. Doesn't sound like cancer. I had a hydrocele. Didn't need to be removed but I decided it felt odd to have what felt like a bb floating around in my sack. It wasn't anything serious but I elected to remove it. Just some fluid. Course I didn't have that tight feeling you are talking about and thats the worse which means you've got ovarian cancer icon_lol.gif Dude just go find a hot Doctor and get felt up its no big you'll be fine.
