Claystation saidWhat the hell is bollywood?
The Indian movie industry that has become popular globally is in Hindi. These Indian films are based in the city of Mumbai, which until recently was known by the name, "Bombay". At the time when these movies began pulling in more money than Hollywood, or the American movie industry, the nickname "Bollywood" was created using "Hollywood" and "Bombay", seeing as the city's name at that time was still Bombay. This only refers to the Hindi language films, and the English language films produced in India, other languages, such as Bengali have their own nicknames. In the case of Bengali it is known as "Tollywood" for the part of Kolkata known as Tollygunge.
