If the movie is like the video it should be ultra cool.
One minor quibble: why do Scott's aliens only inhabit planets that are entirely composed of gray rocks with drizzle?

Looks really good. I hope they find a poor excuse to show Michael Fassbender's naked arse.

I peed my pants a few months ago when I saw a 30 second teaser. Now every time I see the trailer I get goosebumps.

Looks great, I will definitely be there opening night!

Whoa. Looks really cool. I have been a little perplexed by Ridley Scott's decision to revisit the Alien storyline, which seems kind of played out. Hopefully he can pull this off.

venue35 saidlove those red flashlight things they throw in the caves.
this doesn't look like it's going to have a nice ending.

Don't we know that from Alien? Edit: never mind. I am confusing myself.

Shawnathan saidWhat does it have to do with Prometheus?

Do you mean "What do Aliens have to do with the Greek myth of Prometheus?"

Seems fairly simple.. The Weyland Corporation finds a powerful alien technology and want's to steal/harness it for themselves (or as they say 'for the betterment of humanity').
Of course when they try to do this they are exposed to all manner of horrors.

^^ Well that just one of the underlying themes present in all the Alien movies...
Don't forget that there's plenty of rape and sexual imagery too!

That's a possible scenario. There even looks to be a Pandora figure to dispense the evil gifts (xenomorphs) upon the earth.

Though I think the alien species (or perhaps an individual) may have intentionally influenced the advancement of earth societies for their own ends. The question is was this visitor(s) a Promethean figure giving humanity "fire", technology and ideas, along with a warning not to visit their planetary system or was the entire thing an elaborate trap for ensnaring advancing space faring species spanning many thousands of years.

"Prometheus is definitely a prequel to Alien"
    http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/12/22/prometheus-trailer/

Any Aliens fan will recognize the humanoid creature seated at the telescope like structure shown in the trailer of Prometheus and also shown in Aliens 1.

Anyone else kind of reminded of Sphere?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphere_(film)

granted it's a different planet with aliens, but the whole "dark cave exploration/we were so misled/now we're infected and being attacked by the mystery creature/let's get the hell out" reminds me strongly of that movie. hopefully it doesn't suck nearly as hard as Sphere did.
