Routine Question

So I am currently doing an every other day workout routine with Chest/Bi, Shoulder/Leg, Back/Tri split and then another day of just chest

I want to do a new routine soon that would just be 3x a week, Chest/Tri, Shoulder/Leg and Back/Bi with maybe a 4th day of abs and alternating on doing another body part again, like arms/chest or shoulders, etc

When you do Chest/Tri and Back/Bi, I was told that you don't need to do the full 3 exercises or more for triceps and biceps since they are already being worked out with the chest and back. So I would just do 2 sets for triceps and biceps as opposed to more.

I am looking for other alternative workout routines, so any suggestions are welcome icon_biggrin.gif

I do weight training (for 90 min) with cardio (another 30 min) 6 days:
    Sun + Wed: Chest/back + core
    Mon + Fri: Shoulder + bi/tricep + core
Tues + Thurs: Legs + core
Each corresponding day is slightly different (i.e. on Wednesdays, I'll do bench presses with pull ups vs. on Sundays, I'll mainly use machines).

The 7th day is simply yoga at home.

I came up with this routine after trying different things very unsuccessfully for two years. I wouldn't say that I've become super ripped doing this, but I see some results (which I've never seen doing anything else).

Hope you find this regimen interesting enough to try.

Here is basically where I concentrate. (I learned my routine from the head coach in college when I was on the H20-polo team). I shake up my routine all the time, but essentially, this is what I work on:

Bench, Squats, Dead lifts, Bicep curls, Barbell rows & Overhead rows. I do ab work every time at the gym, and cardio at the end of my work outs, or I run at night before bedtime. I'm in the gym 3 - 4 times a week, and I do Yoga on Sundays now.

    Here are my body stats:

    Neck: 17"
    Shoulders: 52"
    Chest: 44"
    Arms: 17"
    Forearms: 13"
    Waist: 33"
    Hips: 39"
    Calves: 17"

Basically, I was taught that to build muscle and stay ripped, the formula is:

    * Push the muscle harder that it is used to working
    * Eat the best and healthiest foods
    * Make sure you get plenty of quality rest.
