I use to be a heffer and I l have since lost over 40 pounds I went from being 200 and now after weighing myself today I am 156 which is annoying because I've been trying to put on muscle. I feel like I have been putting weight on I weighed myself a few weeks ago and I was 161. And I have lost 5 pounds and I thought I put on some weight over Spring Break! Apparently I lost some lol. Sorry for the randomness it's just funny how when you're trying to lose weight it takes forever and when you're trying to put on muscle it takes

Yeah I hear ya. Only difference is that I have always been rail thin. So skinny at one point.... can you imagine 6ft 135lbs? Yep that was me and 4 years later I am only 20 lbs heavier. I want to gain 20 more pounds of muscle...it will probably take over a year

I went from 230 to 165, and could care less how much muscle I put on. I'm just happy to not be a fatass anymore. icon_biggrin.gif

    +1

Muscle would be nice, but I am much happier being able to run and keep up with others than being the fat, slow kid picked last for kick-ball. (i'm not bitter at all icon_rolleyes.gif )

Putting on muscle is the most difficult of all aspects of changing body composition. Yes that does mean loosing weight is easier in comparison to putting on muscle. note: increased body weight does not mean increased muscle mass on a 1 is to 1 ratio.

What you need to do is...
    1) fix your diet. that means counting calories. different requirements for days when you train and lesser when you are off the gym.
    2) fix your training. that means if the weights aren't going up on the bar, you aren't getting bigger.
