    Hi,
You've probably heard the saying that most gay people can sense the presence of other gays in the same room because of their gaydar.
My question is ,is it accurate though? Because I would like to hang out with those people and ask them to tell me how they feel about me. icon_smile.gif

I wish it worked 100% accurate... would help me with a lot of my 'straight' boy crushes who I think are gay...

Desire and hornyness are known to cause interference with Gaydar.

I'd say mine is about 80 % accurate BUT sometimes I can't help but be a tad biased if it involves a guy I find really really hot. I usually look for a certain 'softness' in the eyes.

Imagine having gaydar for real. Then someone around you sets it off, and when you see where it's coming from; it's a miserable man with a wife, Jesus Themed Pop Culture shirt, and a few kids and is in tears when he sees your pretty face.

Would that piss you off; make you feel pity for the guy: or not bother you at all?

Yep. Even when my friends are like "No! that 6'5 300 lb woman in high heels and a shiny shimmery tight dress can't be a guy!" She speaks.. And I'm right again.

My gaydar is only good for stereotypical gay guy behavior or dress. Some guys I can't figure out but when you see 2 gay masculine guys together why is it so obvious that they are gay but when they are apart you can't tell? It's like both together rings "gaydar" instantly. Straight guys have gaydar too.

Mine is finely tuned and works very well in most cases. The eyes have it! A straight guy just doesn't look at us like a gay guy does. A straight guy might look us over - in a competitive way - but a gay guy looks at us and wants us!

I'm not necessarily agreeing, but I had a friend who once said, "You have to be careful. Sometimes they're not gay, they're Christian. It can be hard to tell them apart."

Very true. I know someone who is very religious and engaged to a woman- he is very flamboyant.

Hmm, either I have 50% working gaydar, based on what guys admit, or I might have 100% effective gaydar, if we count the guys I think just supress their sexuality.
I've definitely been surprised by guys who suddenly mention a wife, but I heard a serious gym cruiser mention his wife too, and that didn't make him any less queer.

So far my gaydar has had 100% accuracy.

However, just because a guy is gay doesn't mean he'll be into you.

It's easy to tell in terms of the flamboyant guys(almost all of them are gay); nasal tones(not always), and esp lisps are dead giveaways. For masculine guys, for me its hit or miss. Typically, gay/bi guys look at another guy differently from a straight guy. This can offset however by guys just messing around. Overly friendliness, gentleness, and sensitivity are also good indicators, but again not always. And just because you can tell they are gay/bi doesnt mean they are open about it or even willing to make a move or be moved upon just yet.
