Dreams are one of the funnest things to discuss with friends. I'll start off with a dream that I had a few nights ago.

I had a dream that I was back in my hometown, probably in my grandma's front yard. It was summer, warm, and I almost remember the scent of motor oil and fresh cut grass. I love the sound of cicadas and I'm pretty sure I could hear them buzzing in the background. For some reason, at some point I decided that it was extremely important for me to pull out some of my teeth. I wiggled each one, and yanked out about 4 of them effortlessly. It was NOT bloody, freaky, or scary. It was like I was losing my baby teeth teeth again.

    Thought, opinions, and/or interpretations ?

Losing teeth, I hear, is a pretty common theme in dreams, though it's never happened to me.

I used to think I didn't dream, but someone told me "Of course you do" and recommended I keep a journal at my bedside and write what I remember upon awakening. I still remember the first dream I wrote down: My mom and I were standing before what appeared to be a fast food restaurant menu, but instead of food choices up there on the illuminated menu, there were choices for hairdos. And on either side of the menu board there were mannequin heads spinning slowly, and they both had big bouffant wigs, kind of like Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson of the B-52s. I think Mom was about to choose a new hairdo. Bizarre.

RJ's first ever dream thread, and the first two dreams aren't even wet.

The craziest dream I've had, which I still remember from when I was about 5 years old, was this:

I was standing beside a washing line pole in the garden at my parents house (we'd only just moved there). It was night time, and I looked up and saw dozens of space ships all flying in the same direction, low enough that I could pick out details on their hulls. They were partially lit up in orange and blue with their lights. There was no panic or anything, it was more a feeling of awe and curiosity, and a distinct sense of calm.

I do sometimes wonder if I really am an alien on this planet though icon_razz.gif

I am close to 29 now, and it seems most of my dreams are closely related with what's going on my in life or what I am yearning for.

I am working with my boss on my immigration status right now. In the dream I had last night, I saw I had an email from my boss with recommendation for a immigration consultant. He said a lot of good things about the consultant and included a link to a "portfolio" of his work (??). Of course all dreams have to have an ethereal twist to it, which in this one was, the portfolio did not actually contain any information I was expecting. Instead, it had pictures of the candidate in different angles and poses as if it was a modeling portfolio (!?!?).

This dream is exactly what's happening in reality. My boss sends me something that looks very promising on face, but it's barely useful once I look at it. icon_smile.gif

I have two things I will mention that are recurring for me - if that's ok.

    1) Typically when I dream about "home" it is almost always the little house my family lived until I was 13. - The odd part about it is that it's always decorated modernly - as if we have always lived there and it has changed with the times.

    2) I have said before I was raised in a very religious home. When I was a teen my parents owned a Christian bookstore. I worked there part-time when in high school. Competition came in and it went out of business when I was 19. The store was in an old house. The house was torn down years ago after we closed. About once everyear or so I dream that I am back in town and I drive by that old house (which is still there). I still have the old skeleton key that opened the door. I go in and everything is still there, so I decide to just reopen the store. Either that - or I am back in the store and everything is still there and I am looking for something in the back room. Something I left behind. I am not sure what it is that I left behind there, but sometimes the dream is very dark and creepy, sometimes it is pleasant and sunshiny. It's just odd.
