Series premiered online and was rather impressed. There were many of the characteristics that were kept from the original series that made me happy. The music, the voice acting, the simple and silly childish humor, and colors and outfits, the types of benders, and the unique animals.

Visually I find this season to be more detailed and a older cast means more mature theme overall which is something you only saw in the end part of the first series. Actual metal benders are a nice addition and will be interesting to see if there are other "precision" benders in the series. Lighting benders anyone?

Seems the main story will focus around benders vs non-benders with Korra trying to save her new friend with the help of his brother. With this only being season/book one of possible four there is much the series can do. Right now they seem to be focusing their attention in one city, hope they expand to the world like the first series.

What does everyone think? Overall I'm very excited!!

I know i love the show Avatar the last airbender it is great!!!!
And i looked into the new series of it, and some of the new changes in very happy with. Such as the fact that there are Airbenders and Flying bison again!!!!!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif
Also to correct you buddy, there is only four natural elements, water earth fire and air.... lighting benders are just fire benders... thats just their special ability.. kinda like with the desert people... they were just earth benders and idk why people called them sandbenders???
Im a major fan here as you can tell.
Am a little confused with the new series too though. I really dont understand how the world in one lifetime can go from premodern to modern times. You know? I hope they spend a few of the episodes explaining what happened over the course of Aangs lifetime.
    April 14th icon_smile.gif cant wait !

70 years is a long time, industrial revolution is an amazing event. There was that one amazing inventor in the 1st series, I'm sure Aang asked him to help create the new city and had a big hand in the leap. Plus everyone was not trying to just survive for a change.

I am aware of the main benders, that's why I used the word "precision" benders, those who specialize in one type of bending that is not one of the main four but falls under it. I don't think metal benders are very good at earth bending just like the sand benders seemed to mix earth and air.

Glad to see air benders though there don't seem to be very many and figured Aang would have had more then one kid, but he may have and we have yet to meet them.

I like the way they played it out so far with how modern things have become.

Just watched it, and the first three minutes: EPIC. The new Avatar Korra is such a a badass. I'm really enjoying the infusion of old customs in new world, as well as the dynamics of the sheltered girl in the big city....LOVE. IT.! Thanks O.P. for reminding me it was out!

Let's not even mention that...how do you mess up a movie when Everything you needed was handed to you on a silver plate!?

Well the original metal bender was Touff, in the original series. She discovered that she can bend the rocks within the metal. Ya know the only thing that pissed me off was the question that was almost answered: What happened to Zuko's mother? So close yet so far. icon_cry.gif However, this show will totally kick ever other cartoon show on Nicks ass.

    Was that for me?
We're still on the first series, Aang just learned water bending from Katara, or well, he taught her ha. Oh and they and two tribes just crossed a huge canyon. Great stuff!

And its an actual SEQUEL. You know, not a rehashing of what made the first part good--it pays homage, to be sure, but goes in a new direction. Very good.

    Peace,
