For some reason, last night I was Youtubing it and kept listening to Karyn White. She was such a tremendous talent and I would trade any of her songs/videos for anything from Spears, Gaga, Beyonce or Rihanna.

Wow! Talk about an artist who didn't get a chance to reach her full potential or get the props due her.

One of many (unfair to say but) "one-iconic-hit-wonders" of 80s/90s R&B that with the right break could have been way bigger than she was. Marrying Terry Lewis should've counted as an awfully huge break, but as it turned out, that was probably just a few years past their career peaks. Has there been an UnSung for her yet?

Says on her Wiki a new album "Carpe Diem" is due out any day now, and she runs an interior design biz outside Sacramento.

Actually the reason why she had all those hits WAS because Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam produced most of them. you can hear the similarities in her songs with songs Janet Jackson had out around that time which were also produced by them. when she divorced Terry Lewis her career went down as well. i definitely wouldn't call her a one hit wonder though..she had quite a few hits.

Actually, L.A. and Babyface were the writers and producers for the eponymous Karyn White album (1988 ), that produced "The Way You Love Me," "Secret Rendezvous," "Love Saw It" (with Babyface, of course), and the iconic "Superwoman," (thus the term "one-ICONIC-hit-wonder"). At the same time the LaFace songs were out, Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam were doing their magic with Miss Jackson in the production of Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989).

Ritual of Love (1991) with "Romantic" and "Walkin' the Dog" was Karyn's follow-up album that Jam & Lewis produced (which of course had more of their style than the LaFace-produced songs). Karyn married Terry in 1992.
