Oh, how will I ever cope.

TL;DR version: I royally trolled and pissed off some 20y.o. hotshot who thinks that people simply saying "nice photos, man" is virtual rape. The guy apparently considers my two attempts to politely compliment him as "harassment". This is after he reads me the riot act on how I (personally) ruined grindr as a social media tool and turned into a sleazy hookup site.

Naturallllly, I wasn't gonna let that go, and kindly advised him to take his cocky ass over to PlentyOfFish.com or Match.com ... as an app named "Grindr" was just about built from the ground up as a cruisey hookup tool that "cleaned up its act" only after Apple threatened to yank them from the App Store.

Also mentioned something about him covering himself up, and then not trying to pass himself off as into "friends only" when the dude himself was barely covered in a pair of trunks that surprisingly passed grindr's "no flesh exposed below the hips" TOS rule.

Granted I shouldn't have trolled him, and let the dude just vent (as a pretty young thing, he probably gets at least 100 lurid IMs a day from creepy guys more than 5yrs older than him).

I guess I'll just have to live without a massive time-wasting app on my iPhone icon_razz.gif

INB4 judgmental "why did I IM the dude again after he ignored me the first time":

I usually will IM an interesting guy a second time if I get no reply after a day or so; sometimes I get a good response - sometimes I get ignored and then I proactively block the guy after that so I won't have to see that profile come up again.

And then I get the ocassional "fuck off, troll" or "thanks, not interested" replies, which I'll also block.

But a three-page litany on how I'm an asshole for turning grindr into an online sewer?

Yousa gonna get trolled right da fuck back.

Did you know that the & sign used to be the last "letter" in the alphabet and that is how it got its name?

    In the 19th century, the alphabet went "A B C....W X Y Z &"

When the alphabet was recited, the last character was expressed as "and per se and" meaning "and the symbol itself "and"" Well, kids not understanding what they were saying thought the name of the last letter was "andperseand" .... slurred into "ampersand."

Oh and thanks for turning Grindr into sleaze city!

So he wrote a dissertation over a couple of compliments? Guess he was getting too much attention from the 35-and-up crowd and got fed up. icon_razz.gif

I wonder what you said to him that was so ban-worthy...

    Honestly?

That's about the coolest anecdote I've read here in a few months.

    Makes perfect sense.

And my pleasure at *personally* turning Grindr into a cruisey sleaze pit. ;)

Basically just telling dude to grow up and stop playing like a prude when he looks like a Ho.

A few notches snarkier, and a few helpful hints concerning how - if he lives long enough - he just might find his not quite so perfect anymore self "trolling the young'uns" in his future.

Which is a perspective matter, I guess: when I was 20, I might have been a little uncomfortable with guys nearly twice my age saying "nice pics, dude" to me.

Except I was already fucking guys 10-15 years older than me back then, just not into dating them... lol

I think everyone goes through a cocky/arrogance phase in their 20's. Some take a little longer to wise up though. icon_lol.gif

"Just friends" on Grindr... what is this world coming to? Lol.

I personally wouldn't mind comments from someone older - so long as they looked ok and weren't knocking on heaven's door.

Sounds like my kind of place.
    Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined.

Ahhh yes. Reminds me of a bar in Fort Lauderdale I used to go to.
