If you haven't already, all the hype about the sinking of the RMS Titanic. On TV, in the Movies, internet, and news in general. That is becuase we are approaching the 100th anniversary of its sinking, which tragically occured in the late-night hours of April 14-15, 1912.

The RMS Titanic was a British ocean liner that left Southamptom, England on April 10th, 1912, destined for New York. On this maiden (and final) voyage, the ship scrapped the side of an iceberg, which ultimately led to its demise. Of the 2,200 passengers and crew who embarked for the US, over 1,500 of them perished with the ship.

Media items of note in the next 3 weeks include (but is certainly not limited to):

A rerelease in theaters of the 1997 movie 'Titanic' by director James Cameron,...but this time in 3D

A two-night special on the National Geographic Channel comining up next month that takes a deep forensic look into the shipwreck:

TWO-NIGHT TITANIC EVENT Starts SUN APR 8, at 8PM et/pt

A Countdown to the Centenial (to the second) of the tragedy, run by RMS Titanic Inc.

    And finally from

"if you’re keen to relive the events through the eyes of those alive at the time, a new Twitter account has been set up for the month leading up to the anniversary of its sinking.

@TitanicRealTime will chart the Titanic’s epic journey through ‘live’ tweets, broadcasting as though they’re coming directly from those involved."

Some cool stuff to remember perhaps the world's single-most infamous maritime tragedy in all of history.
