Very sad, South America has unfortunately been, and in some places remains, plagued by facists.

The documents revealed that as many as 5,000, went to Argentina; between 1,500 and 2,000 are thought to have made it to Brazil; around 500 to 1,000 to Chile; and the rest to Paraguay and Uruguay.

Vile animals! Very disturbing as South American countries are far more progressive in terms of gay rights overall than Africa. Unfortunately anothe example of the pockets of hatred which continue to be perpetuated throughout the world.

I swear Hitler was molested by another male as a child which resulted in him having such a hatred towards homosexuals.

Anti-gay manifestations exist even in the most progressive countries. A google search about anti gay attacks in London shows various results, here is one:

    http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/huge-rise-in-antigay-attacks-sparks-call-to-fight-hate-crime-6565675.html

Complacency is the greatest threat to any movement, political or social. If those of us living in progressive societies think this won´t happen to us, and instead choose to sit on a high chair pointing the finger of shame at less progressive societies, we may be risking not seeing the buds of anti-gayism that seem to be quietly but steadily surfacing in our own back yards.

Bear in mind, for every gay person there may be two or more bigoted, anti-gay persons in every society just waiting for the time when it becomes safe to express their hatred publicly.

    May Daniel's family find peace.

As much as I wish it wasnt so - you make a very valid point Ribprod and it does pay to always maintain some level of vigilance no matter where we live.

A very rough transliteration, with some help from google translate as my Spanish is very rusty:

    Daniel Zamudio (passed/fell/died) after a long fight for his life at the Public Assistence {Hospital}

    27 March 2012
    8:10pm

The news was confined this afternoon in the Medical Attention Centre. The young man received a brutal striking (beating) on 3 March, presumably by a group of neo-nazis.

    {PHOTO CAPTION: Daniel Zamudio died this afternoon at the Public Assistance Hospital. Photo: EFE}

SANTIAGO, CHILE – This afternoon, after a long fight for his life, the youth Daniel Zalmudio died, who was beaten by a group presumed to have neo-nazi sympathies.

The death occurred at 7:45pm as confirmed by officials at the Hospital for Urgent Public Assistance.

The news which was expected this weekend given the serious condition of the youth was received with pain at the front of the hospital.

The hospital director, Emilio Villalón, (made a positive statement?) of an apnea test, and gave his his condolences to the Zamudio family.

"He was a victim of homophobia, which is hatred for those who have a different sexual orientation, and now has become for us citizens a martyr", said Jaime Parada, director of the Homosexual Liberation Movement (Movilh: Movimiento de Liberacíon Homosexual) at the hospital.

Parada added: "his only sin was being born como, and in this (measure? vein?) we want to (commend?) the integrity of his parents for their strong support, despite the significant stigma that many homosexuals bear.

Zamudio had been (hospitalized) since 4 March, following the violent beating (he) received. Four suspects have been charged in the case, whose criminal charges will probably be qualified as homocide (charges)

The accused (suspects are) Raul Alfonso Lopez Fuentes (25), Axel Alejandro Angulo-Tapia (26), Patricio Ahumada Ivan Garay (25) and Fabian Alexis Mora Mora (19) were (formalized: processed?) and remain in preventive prison.

At the entrance of the (hospital), dozens of people expressed their grief on hearing the tragic news. Since last week, a growing number of Santiago citizens had been (offered votive candles?) and left testimonials to support Daniel Zamudio and his family.

Posters and candles in honor of the youth filled the (surrounding area) of the hospital at Avenida Portugal, in the city centre.

The arrival of officials like Vice President Rodrigo Hinzpeter, who was accompanied by Health Minister, Jaime Mañalich, and the mayor of Santiago, Pablo Zalaquett, was greeted with whistles and shouts of rejection by some of the people found on the premises.

However, the situation calmed down when the father of the deceased youth, Ivan Zamudio, asked the audience to express their pain "with respect" to those who attended to show solidarity with the relatives of the victim.

Later in the morning, a procession of people was made by those who were at the (hospital) leave a testimony or a rembrance to honour Daniel Zalmudio.

May they enjoy the abuse they will receive behind bars.

    No sympathy.

Being drunk and the other 3 forced him to beat the victim, as an excuse?

The gay SA was responsible for bringing hitler to power in 1932 then he exterminated many of them.

Gays were responsible for bringing to Obama to power in 2008. He has increased US Foreign Aid to countries which imprison and execute gays.

Is this what you're talking about?

"In September 1930, as a consequence of the Stennes Revolt in Berlin, Hitler assumed supreme command of the SA as its new Oberster SA-Führer. He sent a personal request to Röhm, asking him to return to serve as the SA's chief of staff. Röhm accepted this offer and began his new assignment in early January 1931. He brought radical new ideas to the SA, and appointed several close friends to its senior leadership.

The SA now numbered over a million. Its traditional function of party leader escort had been given to the SS, but it continued its street battles with "Reds" and its attacks on Jews. The SA also attacked or intimidated anyone deemed hostile to the Nazi agenda, including uncooperative editors, professors, politicians, other local officials and businessmen.

Under Röhm, the SA also often took the side of workers in strikes and other labor disputes, attacking strikebreakers and supporting picket lines. SA intimidation contributed to the rise of the Nazis and the violent suppression of left-wing parties during electoral campaigns, but its reputation for street violence and heavy drinking was a hindrance, as was the open homosexuality of Röhm and other SA leaders such as his deputy Edmund Heines.[4][5] One American journalist would later write, "[Röhm's] chiefs, men of the rank of Gruppenfuehrer or Obergruppenfuehrer, commanding units of several hundred thousand Storm Troopers, were almost without exception homosexuals. Indeed, unless a Storm Troop officer were homosexual, he had no chance of advancement."[6] In 1931, the Münchener Post, a Social Democratic newspaper, obtained and published Röhm's letters to a friend discussing his homosexual affairs.

    Röhm with Hitler, August 1933
Hitler was aware of Röhm's homosexuality. At this point they were so close that they addressed each other as du (the German familiar form of "you"). No other top Nazi leader enjoyed that privilege, and their close association led to rumors of Hitler's homosexuality.[6] Röhm was the only Nazi who dared address Hitler as "Adolf" rather than "mein Führer."[5]

As Hitler rose to national power with his appointment as Chancellor in 1933, SA members were appointed auxiliary police and marched into local government offices forcing officials to surrender their authority to the Nazis."
