Hmmm well I like older, low budget ones from the 50's, 60's, 70's. I recommend "Carnival of Souls" if you've never seen it. It's older from 1961 or 62 and very low budget but it has a very creepy atmoshpere. It inspired alot of future horror flicks like Night of the Living Dead and the Sixth Sense. Another good one from the early 60's is "The Innocence" with Deborah Kerr. It's based off of the story Turn of the Screw. It's a bit on the long side but creepy.

Another is called Let's Scare Jessica to Death it's from the 70's but it's pretty bizarre. These are all ghost movies/supernatural flicks. If you like slashers I recommend the original Black Christmas and Texas Chainsaw Massacre both released in 1974 just a month a part from each other.

Lol I was obsessed with horror movies in middle school I have a huge collection but I've gotten away from it over the last few years. But I still enjoy a good horror flick every now and then =D I'm a huge Vincent Price fan he's the MAN!!!

MARTYRS. You have to watch it. This movie will actually change the way you see films - forever.

Yeah I think 'Inside' was also French and that movie was gore porn.
Martyrs was so good though, but I don't think I can watch it again HAHA

Event Horizon and The Shining freaked me out when I was younger (both still seem plenty creepy to me). The latter being a classic, I would definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it.

28 Days Later is awesome! REC is good too!

28 Weeks Later is my suggestion. It is a great sequel. It is to the original as Aliens is to Alien.

I actually prefer Inside to Martyrs. The first half of Martyrs was incredible but the second half dragged on too long IMO.

Inside was shorter (or at least it seemed like it) but kept the intensity through the whole film. The last scene was nuts!

^^^^ THIS ^^^^ A true classic, not to mention the only horror movie of its kind nominated for multiple Academy Awards (10 nominations) including "Best Picture".
