Not so funny if he had remained at the flight controls. To my knowledge it's not been released yet if he left the cockpit on his own, or was ejected. It's clear they didn't let him back in when he was pounding the door and ordering them to allow him entrance. He could have taken the entire plane to its doom.

To say that this would be unsettling would be putting it mildly.

From what I read the co-pilot tricked him into leaving the cockpit by telling him to go to the bathroom, then they slipped an off-duty pilot in and locked the cockpit door. What the AIRLINE failed to do was have the flight attendants go to the captain and tell him why..instead, they let him panic and go into a rage. What if he really believed it was a terrorist setup?

I also want to know what the captain did specifically that made the pilot kick him out.
