    'Ello folks,

I'm hoping that a few of our RJ members will have some good suggestions for anime series (preferably ones that can be found online, links would be glorious), that have GLBT themes/characters/etc.

My only request is to avoid vapid and brainless Boy-love series. Shows written for 13 year old girls about some overly beautiful teenager being wooed by a middle-aged hunk doesn't really appeal to me. I understand that the age of consent is different in Japan vs. USA, but it's still a bit creepy to me. Also, there's almost never plot besides "No, we shouldn't, we're both men! But I love you!". Bleh.

Suggestions would be most welcomed. =)

Only underground Bara series heavy on the sex part and light on the story front.

BL/Yaoi for women, Big boobs for straight males and there's very little for gay men.

This is a good one I just started a while back, slow story but it's a really well done. You can find it on Crunchroll for free.

In Japanese (and Asian culture in general) being gay is still taboo. In most mainstream series GBLT characters are played as a gag (which really isn't any different from any other forms of television, Western or Eastern)

Sadly, this is the only anime to treat anything pertaining to LGBT seriously. As in everything else is yaoi or yuri or for the lulz. Very groundbreaking in any genres I think. I'm interested in seeing if anyone else has shows that have a grounded focus on LGBT characters since I haven't seen any so far.
