Not the best pics to really make an assessment - but he doesn't look freakishly roided to me at all. It appears natural via years of dedicated, focused training, solid nutrition and a little genetic boost.

It is totally attainable for anyone with the time, interest and dedication, IMHO.

I agree. Yes. Plus he is pumped at the moment, so you've got to remember he goes flat when he's at a restaurant or on his computer or whatever. He is also a big guy naturally. There is a lot of weight "on him" not from the gym - muscle, fat, water - which we all have naturally... BUT!!! You have got to figure out what your body type is before you decide you are going to set your heart on getting that big. Because - it just may be impossible. Think about it this way, if this guy wanted to wear skin tight clothes and dress like, say, Steven Tyler, and he set his heart on it, and started dieting etc., he is never ever ever going to get there. Someone would have to sit him down and say "Dude, no." Work with and be happy with what you've been given to work with, and build your own muscle house from there. it's not going to look like his. It's going to look like yours.

OP- Is it his vascularity that makes you think he is on roids :/ ? Because from the pictures, he does not look overly muscular at all. He looks like a naturally big guy (endormorph) who happens to have some muscle.
But yea, that type of physique IS possible without roid usage.

However, you never know for sure because I have seen guys half his size who are running all sorts of gear :/ .

he looks like an endomorph to you really?

Haha, well he's definitely not an ecto icon_razz.gif
And he seems a lot more "thick" than a meso would be. But, this is all just my opinion.
All in all, my point was that his size is attainable without the help of roids icon_smile.gif

I'd say he's an overweight mesomorph.

And you cannot get a body like that without steroids unless you're born with the mesomorph body type that makes it possible to get that big and muscular.

The skin on his face looks a bit roidy... but really hard to tell. There's a lot of fat in addition to the muscle there. Also to some people "doing roids" is only if you inject something. Everything else is just a supplement to them.

This, basically. There are tons of weekend roiders at my gym. They're not huge or mega ripped, just casually running a cycle every now and again with moderate strength training. You have no idea what an epidemic casual roid use outside the US is where they don't have working regulatory bans or control.

You seem to think it's regulated in the US. It's not. The FDA doesn't regulate supplements until someone dies. For example, DMAA is now a regulated supplement ingredient. Anything else can go under "proprietary blend."

In fact, 1 in 4 supplements in the US is adulterated. This is a rate that is HIGHER than other countries. The supplement industry in the US is less regulated than other countries, so the population is essentially lab rat live experiments. Adulterated meaning:
    1) Not enough active ingredient as label states
    2) No active ingredient as label states (white sand in a bucket--looks the same as creatine)
    3) too much active ingredient
    4) processed in a facility that also processes anabolic steroids--and just like facilities that process food allergens, they get into what you're taking, except food allergens must report that on the label that they are processed in the same facility
    5) mislabeling and it gets to market unregulated (you think you're taking creatine/whey, but you're really taking andro)

So, just eat stuff with a Nutrition Facts label and avoid Supplement Facts labels altogether is my motto. This is what we are taught by both university tenured nutrition Ph.D.s and university tenured exercise physiology Ph.D.s. You can confirm at the CDC website or just googling all the different news articles that pop up in recent news "adulterated supplements in US."

Regardless of FDA regulation or not, can you, in the US, walk in off the street into any common pharmacy and buy anabolic steroids without a prescription of any sort? Is it commonplace in US gyms that your trainers openly inject you with steroids without anyone batting an eye?

No, but it's probably like marijuana where it's certainly not at all hard to get nor does anyone care in law enforcement unless they want to nail you for some other reason that isn't covered by the law but the marijuana/steroids are...

What I find funny about weekend roiders is for example this one kid at my gym. I remember the first day he joined that gym (because he was so cute). Regular, normal looking kid, didn't look like he had worked out much before. Within weeks the kid explodes into a monster. Not just in size, but vascular JACKED size. He goes from being regular to one of he biggest and most ripped guys at the gym in like, 6 weeks. Then I kinda didn't see him for a while.

The next time I saw him? SMALLER THAN ON HIS FIRST DAY AT THE GYM. In my mind I was like lol was it fun being big and jacked for those 2 weeks it lasted after your cycle ended?

Steroids make every organ expand. There are guys who are gigantic and got there naturally. Honestly. The guys who used steroids? They have shredded abs, but their abs curve like a turles shell, instead of being flat. That's from the abdominal organ accentuated growth. I don't have pix for the show and tell, sorry.

Unless they know how to do the "bow to Mecca" exercise on the free motion machine for abs to do weighted ab crunches, or they max out ab machine. That will cause abdominal hypertrophy too. Couple that with them eating a high fiber diet that bloats your stomach temporarily, it's difficult to tell is the bottom line.

Doubtful. I have yet to meet a guy that size that didn't admit to having done at least one cycle.
