ChangeofName saidlol i guess you thought the models came with the shirts.

You don't see strips in the picture of the first shirt. The real shirts are so much darker and uglier.

I guess the models wouldn't be as good-looking as the pictures too.

Some things I just can't buy online; clothes is one of those things. You never know how things really look and fit until you see them in person.

I'm puzzled. If these are pics of the shirts you received, were you buying for 2 people? One is Large, the other Small.

Sometimes you have to read the "fine print" in the online description, which might have mentioned the stripes that aren't visible in the Hilfiger photo. And most online stores will have a disclaimer about differences in product color from what your monitor shows. At least you didn't buy the second model's pants.

I bought them for my friends.

It is not an issue of monitors. I have iMac, PC, and laptop. Pretty much look the same. I have shopped many clothes from different brands over the years. I had been fairly satisfied until Tommy Hilfiger pissed me off today. It is just like your internet gay friend uses photoshopped pictures to make himself much more attractive than he really is.

I like to shop at Macy's. Half the time I don't even visit the store, I just buy online, try it out at home and if I don't like I just go and return at their stores.

OIC. Well I'm sorry for your unsatisfactory purchase. I began buying clothes "mail-order", as we used to call it, in the late 1960s, when all we had were catalogs and mail-in order forms, or sometimes a phone number. And I was disappointed on occasion, too. Printed pictures can be as unreliable as online images. Though the International Male catalogs in the 1970s were fun to see!

Nowadays I only buy non-clothing items online, except recently some hats, and also from a specialty necktie company with whom I've had an account for years. And the hats were from a company from whom I had already bought a hat "in person" so I knew their quality and sizing.

In any case, perhaps a cautionary tale about Tommy Hilfiger online for others.

Could you send a link to the online store you purchased these from? I'd be curious to see them.

ok so I found the shirts online. I think you just didnt read carefully. The first shirt was found under the "stripe" category, and the product is called "Thin Striped Shirt". Plus, you can zoom in and clearly see the stripes. As far as the blue one goes, yours looks slightly darker, but not enough for me to say you were duped by the website.

Sorry dude, cant say I agree with you on this one.

I love Tommy Hilfiger. I own a lot of their clothes. Half my closet is just TH. I recently bought a pair of aviators. They look pretty good on me.

I used to work at Macy's. Definitely a great idea to shop online with one of the major department stores. Most of them take online purchase returns unlike catalog orders where you may have to mail it back.

I've on occasion purchased accessories (shoes, bag, etc) online but only brands whose sizing i'm already familiar with.

I understand that you did not see the stripes in the photo, but stripes like that are meant to blend out at a distance. The blue shirt is bluer in you pic than in the catalog pic, but light blue tends to white in strong light. Perhaps the photo editor should have accounted for that.

Nevertheless, your difficulties seem to be pretty first world.
