I will be in Michigan next week and have a couple of days free time and considering going to Frankmuth. Besides Bonners what should I see. I am planning on going to the Titanic exhibition there. Any recommendations on hotels? Thank you!

I think of Frankenmuth more as a day trip myself. You know arrive mid morning, putz around Bronners, have lunch, putz around a little more and head home.
If you're really into Christmas decorations etc. then it's a have to see.

It's early in the season but imho Saugatuck is the place to go but not sure how it is off-season. We'll be there for the July 4th week.. counting the days.

    Where are you staying

Aren't there some factory outlet stores in the area?

Depends also on how far you are willing to drive (Saugatuck is probably a 3+ hour drive; there's also the Leelenau Peninsula and Sleeping Bear Dunes).

If you come down to the Detroit / Ann Arbor area, there's tons more to do. The Henry Ford Museum (Dearborn); UM Law Quad, the Big House, Zingerman's Deli....

Havent decided yet. Flint doesnt seem to have a great array of decent hotels but Frankenmuth and Birch Run seem to. Ideas?

Christmas-all-the-time Frankenmuth takes one day. It is still too early in the year for gay-all-the -time Saugatuck. You are in Michigan at an unusual time. It is still too cold for the beach towns and the winter activities season is over.

A strange Detroit attraction- The Heidelberg Project.

Thats what I thought - similar to here in NJ - our gay seaside town is Asbury Park, NJ. But thats not where I hang. Anyways, Im probably going to Henry Ford in Dearborn!
