Hey, since we have a pushup challenge thread, why not add a thread for pull ups and see how long it takes RealJock members to get to 1,000 total?

Personally, I suck at pull ups but I figure this is a way to motivate myself to do more and get better. I'll start with what I did this morning.

    20

Edit: we got to 1,000 way faster than I expected. Setting 5,000 as new goal.

Edit again - Wow - y'all got to 5,000 quicker than I expected! Let's bump up the goal to 10,000!

    100 in one shot?

    Fucking impressive.

Did 48 (4 sets of 12) two days ago, if that can count.

    379 + 48 = 427

Wow. With all you guys adding 50 or even 100 or more at a time, we'll get to 1,000 in no time. I might have to bump up the target number.

Planning to add more to the count myself later this week!

    So letstalk2009's 220 + 797 = 997.

I still suck at pull ups but did 22 this morning. 997 + 22 = 1,019. Woohoo! Goal of 1,000 reached! That was almost too easy. Gonna edit and make the goal 5,000.

Btw, do you guys do your pull ups at the start of your workout or at the end? I do mine as a finisher.

I do mine in the middle actually. This morning I started out(after warming up, of course) with barbell bent over rows. Then I went into shrugs, so I started supersetting sets of pullups in between sets of shrugs, then into good mornings still doing sets of pullups in between. Finished up with giant sets of lat pulldowns, machine rows, and tried out the trap exercise eagermuscle posted on the bodybuilding/trap forum-killer.

Some ab work and stretching and called it a workout.
