Hiya guys I need your help deciding which iPad 3 to choose.

    My budget is £500

The 16GB Wifi and 3G version is £499
The 32GB Wifi only is £479

If I choose the Wifi only then I can use tethering using my iPhone as a modem to get the Internet and more space.

If I choose the Wifi and 3G then will have to top up my iPhone and also topping up the 3G on iPad so then will be having 2 bills hehe.

One deal I found on the UK 3 Network is £25 the one plan that gives unlimited tethering usage and phone usage unlimited Internet , unlimited texts and 2000 minutes.

Wifi the wifi only will be using the iPhone and been told the Internet will be fast using tethering option or also known as hot spot.

The 32GB Wifi and 3G is £599 and it's too expensive as I only have £499 to spend so it's gonna be choosing between 16GB WIFI and 3G and the 32GB WIFI Only version.

Let me know what your opinions are thanks

Also been thinking about a laptop that's strong for gaming but iPad is appealing to me a lot more as I've got a very old laptop and hardly using that.

It depends on the data plan. When I priced the iPad 2, having a 3G iPad added about $10/month for the extra data plan versus changing my iPhone data plan to include a WiFi hotspot. Add that to the extra cost of a 3G iPad versus a WiFi only iPad, and it just wasn't worth it to me. I've never need my iPad to be 3G anyway, so I haven't added the hot spot capability to my iPhone plan.

You should consider the cost and where you want to use the iPad.

Well I'm home most of the time as I lost my job as a security guard a month ago so looking for another job at the moment so hardly out. When at home will be using an iPad connected to the home router.

If I change over to the 3 Network they offer both mobile plan and iPad plan and this deal they have is the only one allowed to use tethering hot spot as they offer unlimited Internet for £25 a month.

I just hope that if using my iPhone as a hotspot I get fast and reasonable Internet speed on the iPad.

So I won't be needing the wifi and 3G version right if using the iPhone as the hotspot and included in the mobile plan.

If I go to friends that don't have wifi then will be using the iPhone so shouldn't be an issue.

My iPad 3 that arrives this Tuesday is a 64GB WiFi. My area has abundant WiFi, and we have a wireless router in our residence. I don't really see a great need for 4G LTE for my expected uses. I've got a 4S iPhone that can cover the few times I might want to go cellular. This is my first iPad, and if it turns out I've misjudged its usage patterns, I can correct that next year, when no doubt I'll upgrade to the next model.

If you want an iPad just to have an iPad, get the WIFI only version. I have a 16GB WIFI iPad 2 that I got about a year ago, and there has only been once or twice where I really needed 3G. Of course, if I had 3G, I would probably use it more.

My advice on the iPad is to either get the cheap version (16GB WIFI), or go all out (64GB 3G) depending on your intended usage amount.

you need at least the 32gb.. the apps take up more space now because of the screen resolution.

or you could save yourself 300 dollars and get a playbook.

For the iPad, I went with the 64GB. I have movies that I bought with the "digital copy" option, and those take up a lot of space. The iPad is large enough to watch movies on.
