Today I went to the gym to start my 12 week program, I was going before but I wasn't really committing to it and I wouldn't talk to the guys to get help when I didn't understand something. Well today I got over my fears and actually talked to a guy about work out techniques. It was so random how the conversation started. I cant wait till tomorrow to go back and see if I can do it again. Slowly but surely I'm getting over my shyness and starting to interact!!!!!icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks guys I really appreciate the comments. Just talking to a random guy is weird for me. Maybe cause attractive guys really make me nervous and I don't know what to say so I never say anything just look from a distant. God didn't make the world in 1 day, so I'll take those baby steps.... icon_razz.gif

You improve your physical health and at the same time you are taking small steps to come out of your shyness. Both things are good.

Iceblink is 100% correct. Shared interests and activities with others are good ways to overcome social fears and shyness, by doing things together. You quickly become part of the group, one of the guys. It's a kind of "functional friendship" that I saw a lot in the US Army, a way to get your foot in the door that can lead to even closer friendships.

And it isn't limited to the gym. Join other organizations and activities to expand the effect. Gay groups if you mainly wanna socialize with fellow gays, or non-gay groups if you just wanna meet people to dispel your shyness and learn to interact with others. Good luck with both goals, physical & social! icon_biggrin.gif
