    He would close Guantanamo Bay!

Did Obama lie or keep this promise?

That is just one of many. Google Obama lies and also Obama broken promises, and for each plenty of links. Some good videos too. Some are petty, but there are significant ones people will hear about in coming months.

Obama has tried several times to close Guantanamo but the Congress will not let him. They have refused to fund any transition and states are refusing to accept the detainees into their prison systems.

Unless you'd like to live in a dictatorship (and I suspect some of you actually would), you may want to ring up your state reps and let them know what you support the president's desire to close Guantanamo.

Again I'm not a fan of the Democrats or the Republicans (at least those elected over the past many years) so I'm not taking either side BUT Obama did have the house & senate during his first two years.

We can't have it both ways people, if we say there were enough Republicans to block him then certainly GW Bush had enough Democrats to block him during his final years. So by default he's not to blame for anything his last few years.

Wake up & stop being loyal to either of these two parties, they are in bed together screwing us all. We (& those outside our specific group) have so many liberties (and other issues) that neither party respects they both need to go.

OH MY GOD DID YOU EVER GET THIS ONE RIGHT !!! We are left with one common theme that runs through both parties, they are both BOUGHT AND PAID for by the highest bidders whether from the Corps. the Military Industrial Complex or the damn lobbies, especially the AIPAC and Neo Con lobby that costs us in ruined reputation and $trillions for our Political subservience to them and their wars that we swallowed hook line and sinker and haven't done us one damn bit of good except creat more ill will.

I am not going to wholly disagree with you. In fact like in Oz I do sit on the fence politically, as I always vote for who is best for Oz and not my wants! But when the left keep producing people like Paul keating, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard who sided with that greens fellow Bob brown and his Aliens, who forced her to sell our souls to the devil, to get his vote; I see much the same parody in America. It's a shame Ronald Reagan can come back and help out, just as Oz needs John Howard back; to fix things up again.

It's very easy for any candidate to make all kinds of promises while they're on the campaign trail.
It's much more difficult to fulfill those promises once they get into office.

    This ain't a dictatorship.
