Because they never stay white for long! Is my water not soft enough or something? I swear, I am not a grungy person!!!! But I always seem to see other guys' whites so...sparkly! Especially socks. Other guys' whites socks at the gym are always glowing and mine just get dingier and dingier. and everytime I've tried bleach, it just turned everything yellow, so I don't bother with that anymore.

Oh, and no, I'm not racist icon_wink.gificon_wink.gif

Ugh, white clothes are notoriously hard to clean, especially anything that gets a ring-around-the-collar. Pretreating helps.

(And keep the whites separated from those dirty coloreds!)

Are you washing your whites in hot water?

Also, try "OxyClean" powder. It's the *only* thing I use and it's perfume free.

I tend to save hot water by sticking with black underwear.

What's the old saying? Once you go grey you never go back? Well, that's what it should be for me--grey socks all the way.

Me to I only wear anything once before it goes in the wash, never wear the same thing the next day other than my yard clothing. I never wear the same undergarments after a shower either; it's to be sure, to be sure!

Grey is AWESOME for athletic socks... they look decent a hell of a lot longer.

I love whites, with a lil bit of color in the mix, makes for some sweet pink between the lines.

That just makes me nostalgic for those long, lonely night shifts I used to work at the mortuary...

Most of my socks are grey.

    Though they started out white.

Sock-footed deadlifts and squats will do that icon_biggrin.gif

Measure the amount of bleach you add to the wash load. Too much or too little bleach can cause your whites to turn yellow.

    Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiberrrrrrrr. Dooooo eeeeeet.

SRSLY. Haven't had issues with erm... stubborn remains in years - I mix a heaping teaspoon of that white fibre (can't remember the brand: it's not Metamucil but that other popular one) with my morning shot of unsweetened/black coffee or cacao.

And even then, I likes my darker undies too. Don't think I've worn old-school tightie-whites since the early 1990s.
