Welcome to Orange county California. While schools have come a long ways with clubs such as gay-straight alliance and the likes, conservatism still reigns with the over 40 crowd. It was here that prop 8 did so well!!!

If not for Orange and San Diego counties, CA would be a solid blue state. OC is about as conservative as it gets.

I saw that principle's photo and my gaydar went off - Gay, closet gay. Won;t be surprised he gets outed later at some gay bar.

One good thing about this, from watching the video, is that the kids are far more enlightened than the bigoted adults. Maybe there is hope with the younger generation.

There is no doubt about that. Got teenage kids and both are pretty supportive of gay rights (and they have yet to learn that dear old dad is gay). And both kids are fairly athletic, and well, popular. Both have friends in the Gay-Straight Alliance club. Son stopped using the term 'thats gay'. I've even heard my daughter stand up to religious folks in defence of gay rights to marry. So yeah, this next generation is so much more tolerate.

All my friends with Teenage kids, none of their kids have issues about the fact I am a poofter (Aussie for Gay). But about a year ago, one teenage son of a friend did show his contempt for homosexuals, and his mom was to try to pull him in line. I had to advocate for that child and his rights to freedom of speech, and free thought; he is not rude to me anymore.

One of my female work mates not long told me she was telling her teenage daughter about me and she was like, you are so lucky to have a gay for a friend, I want one too.

It's great that there are LGBT students campaigning for change in these schools.

When I was at school no students were out at all.

Things are changing and it's heartening that these bigoted old views are being challenged and shown to be out of step with the times.
