I interviewed with IKEA. They asked me to choose one fruit and one kitchen implement to describe myself. All applicants met as a group in the next round, and given doweling rods, styrofoam blocks, tape and six IKEA catalogs.

We had to build a bridge with the materials given, to support the weight of six catalogs in fifteen minutes.

    TRUE STORY

Saw something on tv about a Lego Job Interview. The guys have to to be as creative with their building as possible. What an awesome career for a mathematician!

Sounds like IKEA wants employees that are a bit more creative than K-Mart.

I think it could be fun to work there.

As it is, I see the place as a big toy store. It is about 75 miles to the closest one, so I don't get there often.

Read the text carefully, specifically the last two words of that paragraph icon_razz.gif

WhoreMasterBlaster saidI like a few things about IKEA but I don't know if I'd want to work there.

It's huge and overwhelming and a lot of somewhat rude shoppers scattering all over the place in a bit of a frenzy.

Very true regarding the size and temperment of the shoppers. I don't know if the other stores are like this, but you do not want to go near the one in Orlando on a Saturday. Ungodly busy and I think half the population of the city was in there.

It's also one of my self-proclaimed "Major Danger" stores, meaning I can go in there and spend a couple thousand dollars easy....never break a sweat!
