"What's the matter with your head...

Nothin' the matter with your head
Baby find it, come on and find it...

Come and get your love." icon_wink.gif

It's been talked about many times before, and guys have made excuses about their jobs and families, etc. but it really is horrible to see so many guys hiding their faces and who they are. It's almost becoming comical. Grow some balls people. Seriously, for those hiding your faces, stand back and look at this. It's almost like you think you're living in Iran or something. Be yourself and show your face.

Meh. It's a sad state of affairs, but it isn't for me to judge. I rip on the torsos (hell, I rip on everything), but people have their reasons to hide. It may not make sense to us. It doesn't have to. It's their own personal business. I just hope that one day they can come out of hiding and find some true happiness. (After I find true happiness, of course. You have to get in line.)

AMoonHawk saidCut em some slack ... if their wife ever looked on here and saw their pic ... the world would fucking end

wife: "Why are you on RealJock!!???????"
    guy: "...why were you o_O?"

In any case, when some people see a profile with a torso they think why doesn't this person show their face, what are they hiding, etc. When I see a torso..I see a torso...and can't really be bothered to think beyond it. It's not that I'm wholly accepting, I just don't really care enough to formulate a judgment icon_biggrin.gif

How disturbing is it that I am thinking of photoshopping my head as being decapitated being held by my headless torso?

Outside your context of openness and honesty (I agree with you on that), I think some torso shots can be interesting. I've been out since 1984 and a lot of times and happiest with torso or back shots (I do also very much show my face in many photographs...there's no issue of anonymity lol).

I do enjoy seeing a well-done torso shot or shot that hides the face as part of the composition of the photo itself (back shots, etc.)

I think you should do it. I think everyone with a face picture should crop off their head and paste is in their hands. And when you see a whole lot of profiles like that it makes the point of how silly it looks. icon_wink.gif

I also think a torso shot as the main picture is more acceptable when accompanied by other photos in the profile that show face. But even for those scared to show their face, any legitimate photo of themselves is preferable to those who have no pics at all.

Folks, as a long-standing headless torso, I'd like to reiterate a different perspective. I am out to my wife, most of my close family members, and many of my friends and business associates. And I try to be relatively straightforward in my profile on here, giving far more information than most married guys in my position would be comfortable doing. That said, I am a private person, and have no interest in my pix having broad and uncontrolled distribution. Unfortunately, I have had a bad record of folks "borrowing" my pix (face and otherwise) and using them in ways I have no control. Just 4 days ago, I was surprised to find a guy on here was using my main profile pic as his main profile pic. Fortunately, the RealJock administrators shut it down, fast.

So, I have no problem in sharing my face pix with anyone I have learned to trust. This is not a question of having any questions about my sexuality. But I have no interest in putting my face upfront on any social media. Note that I don't have generally available face pix on my Facebook profile either. I would be delighted to talk directly with any of you on the subject.

I have no right to judge anyone, it took me time to get comfortable and post clear face pics.I don't think anyone should do it unless they feel comfortable doing it and no one should put pressure on them to do so.

As has been answered ad nauseum in those same threads...

    1) Many, if not most, of us have face pics on here, they're just set to private so that we can control who see's them (or borrows them). If you want to see the face pic of a guy, just build a relationship with them via email like a normal human beign and many will unlock for you.

    2) Many of us have careers so we have to be careful what we say online. Having a big old face pic with our quotes abou how we like to fuck or other controversial sexual topics may be legal, but it isn't smart for career advancement in many jobs. There have been several cases recently where people have lost their jobs or suspect that they didn't get promoted because of what they did outside the office. And I have seen it first hand at the management level in every company I have worked for. If the reward of having your face pic and quotes permanently documented in cyberspace is worth the risk to you, cool.

When I first joined, I was a "torso". I didn't know any of you and didn't want to open up just yet. I'll never forget this one guy (I think it was DJ Boston) who called me fatty in granny underpants (my Calvin underwear shot) over some ridiculous post. It was hilarious but surprising because it was uncalled for and unexpected.

After I got to know y'all and got comfortable with the site, I decided to "come out" to the REAL JOCKS and leave the gurls to the mudslinging, name calling, queen-fighting, bitch-slapping, nail-breaking scene.

I can't remember ever calling you that, but apparently you forgot that you left the mudslinging to other people — because your post here is coated in mud. I see you're fitting in very nicely.

Exactly, and amazed many don't understand this. For a lot of guys I know, it is not about gayness. It's all about not being known on social networking sites because anything said on a forum can be looked at, in context and out of context. Applies to teachers, judges, anyone who represents an organization to the public, such as spokesmen, models, actors, professional athletes. Many of us have face pics private so we can control who sees us.
