I've been doing Crossfit for about 3 months and I love it! The workouts are super intense and always changing!

I also like the support of the other members. It's really encouraging!

It seems interesting. Not really sure how to get started with it.

I liked the workouts, and I loved the camaraderie of the other people in the gym. I had to quit because of financial reasons (yay for being a poor grad student). If I could afford it, I'd go back to my old box in a second.

Look up the local CF gyms in your area. Each gym usually runs its own blog. Many of them run introductory classes, like my old gym which had a 4-week "on-ramp" class where they teach you the proper form for all the exercises and to gradually get your body used to the workouts.

This is what the workout of the day look like this morning:

25 Box jumps, 30 inch box
    50 Pull-ups
    100 Wallball shots, 20 pounds, 10′
    200 Double-unders
    Run 400 meters with a 45lb plate

I started it, but during one of the sessions, I felt a pang in my left knee. I slowed down, but didnt' stop the workout.

Broke my knee. Of course, I figured I'd just pulled something and kept walking on it, even going to Disney World for a few days. By the end? Agony and a trip to the ER. By then, it had started to congeal.

However, I wanted to go back! The injury was my own, not the local. I highly recommend it.

    Peace,
    Bardy
