    I usually use:

    Soy Milk
    Strawberries (or Blueberries)
    Banana
    Whey Protein Powder
    1 EmergenC packet

-I've never tried oatmeal -I'll have to give that a go!

    PB2...

Peanut butter powder. 85% fewer calories than real peanut butter. All natural ingredients.

It's basically what's left after they extract the oil for other purposes. It tastes really good. Plus adds additional protein to your shake.

Other than that - it's frozen berries or peaches for me.

    Milk or Greek Yogurt
    Orange Juice
    Banana
    Fruits depending on the mood
If I want it chocolaty (which is most of the time), then a stick pack of CocoaVia to add the vasodilation benefit of cocoa.

I think I learned this one here on RJ:

    1.5 cups of water
    a handful of spinach
    blend like crazy
add 1.5 scoops protein powder (chocolate)
    blob of peanut butter
    blend again

    delicious!

My favorite combo is banana, avocado, and matcha (the powdered green tea used in the tea ceremony) - the resulting color is quite impressive. Add some blueberries and it turns an otherworldly mauve.

I have a vanilla protein shake which isn't so bad by itself, but I'm wanting some more nutrients - so i have started adding some banana and a├žai pulp.

Probably bananas, peanut butter or a few blueberries... though that sounds kind of disgusting together.

Speaking of protein shakes, does anyone have any tips on how to get pro-quality smoothies at home with respect to the texture? Mine always come out thicker and heavier than the ones from local shops.

I find that mango, pinapple, and banana go quite well together. Mango and pinapple can both be purchased fresh or frozen at walmart and wherever else. =D I prefer to use frozen because it will make it really thick, for a couple of other reasons which i won't explain.

I also like to use peach, because it will thicken the smoothie, and because they are nutritious, and because they are my favorite fruit. They go well with banana. Im not so sure what else.

I enjoy putting spinach or kale in my protein shake. Kale is very nutritious, and very high in calcium, but it does affect the taste. So, if u don't want a smoothie that tastes like kale, you might like to use spinach. Spinach doesn't affect the taste nearly as much and it is still very nutritious.

Flax seed is high in omega 3 fatty acids, and it is a wonderful addition to a protein shake.

I had an avacado flavored smoothie once! With experimentation, i think it could make a wonderful protein shake! Kiwi is also great! leechee is kind of expensive, but its really delicious. Blueberries go great with banana! especially if your using vanilla protein powder.

Im just going to stop now

I make a lot of protein shakes. I also work at sunflower. so um ya.....

I take a Creatine pill my cheap ass got at Walmart, with a Gatorade Recovery, and a protein bar. Cost less than a value meal at McDonald's a day, but so far so good. icon_smile.gif

Kefir - the only dairy I can handle
Fruit - bananas, frozen berries, etc.
    Soy milk - occasionally
Tea leaves - not enough to taste
Honey - to sweeten the fruit a little
    Vanilla

I start my smoothie by grabbing a big fist full of fresh spinach and pop it in the blender with only water. If I'm out of spinach I'll use kale, but not as much of it as it's stronger tasting. Just blend the water and spinach until it's nice and smooth, then add kefir and fruit of your choice. I also like to add a bit of fresh ginger. I prefer to use frozen fruit because it give the smoothie a slushy texture and makes it nice and cold. If I'm using fresh fruit I just add some ice towards the end.
