I'm not posting this in an appropriate category, but it doesn't matter; I'm just pissing and moaning. I'm starting up with a cold: sore throat, a little chest tightness, etc. I know I'll be out of commission for the next 7-10 days, then my asthma may kick in with the possibility of bronchitis. I'll miss gym/cardio/ yoga time.

What do you do during this kind of down time? I'll read more and tell myself that at least I'm beefing up my immune system. Sucks, though.

What do you do? You get plenty of warm fluids, spend time in a warm tub or shower, get plenty of fluids, eat lightly, get plenty of fluids, rest, get plenty of warm fluids and repeat. Try not to spend all of your time horizontally, [though certain horizontal activities may indicate recovery] but sit or stand for a while to keep drainage from collecting in your throat.

If you like: juice of one lemon, spoon of sugar, some ginger, good shot of bourbon and hot water. Encourages the snugglies.

ginger tea made from root, not powder. Rest. accept your body needs the time and roll with it.
