Hey guy- long time resident of Minneapolis. First off- if you're into the scene, most of the community lives around Loring Park and Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis, but you find gay people everywhere. The University of Minnesota is located in NE Minneapolis, and has a lot of general college nightlife if you're not into the scene. Otherwise the bars and clubs are Jetset, The Saloon, The Brass Rail (or is that in St. Paul?), The Gay 90s (avoid like the plague. I've been there too many times for my liking thanks to having most of club-going friends being female and not gay men. -.-), The Eagle and some others that I probably can't think of off the top of my head. Most of them are located downtown. And I personally hate driving downtown. The police don't like me.

EDIT: AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD- AVOID ANOKA COUNTY.

i'll for sure have to check out places by U of M more. I'll probably end up going there myself (just waiting for instate tuition). i've been told to avoid the 90s before so thanks for helping me to decide to just throw that out. I've tried the saloon, jetset, and the eagle. I just don't feel like the people there are very open to hanging out or talking with people they did not go there with. I guess i am more thinking of cool coffee shops or interesting places of that nature. clubs haven't been workin out hah.

Yeah- I honestly hate that about Minnesota- it applies to everywhere in Minnesota and not just the gay community or the bars. I've been out East and been down South so I'm not being whiny or anything like that. Another thing you can do is to just find activities you're interested in and just meet people.
