Very cute! But I hope you're in this for the long haul....prairie dogs live just as long as dogs in captivity!

Yeah, just googled it as soon as I got home. It was a relief to know it keeps well in captivity. Now let's just hope my dog will eventually stop thinking it's an appetizer. icon_lol.gif

How will you get it back home? And they're highly sociable, living in colonies ("towns"). Will you keep him/her with others, to prevent loneliness?

Well I agree, Paul sitting in an open plane cockpit does vaguely resemble a prairie dog peering out of its burrow. And maybe Paul can get it a tiny little helmet and pair of goggles, to help with the bonding process. Though I wouldn't go flinging it off the roof with a handkerchief parachute until it's a least a few more months old. AIRBORNE!!!

It makes no sense to wash the dishes, then stick them in the dishwasher.

Be careful with that thing....they are cute but big reservoirs for some serious zoonotic diseases....monkeypox and Yersinia pestis aka the plague being two of the top. Prairie dogs are also highly social animals, it probably won't enjoy its life in captivity. Let a fox or a hawk put it out of its misery.

How quickly they turn. One minute holding it for the camera tenderly, the next moment tenderizing it. It's a Paul-eat-dog world. icon_sad.gif
