If you are in advertising or marketing you might find this interesting. The local Addy's have been judged. I have won Silver like 8 times but never have gotten Gold. The way it works is local competition (540 entries), then regional, then national. The best I have done is national Silver. So, for the first round, I scored the following. The Best in Show was really cool for me. If you are not in advertising, this is basically a cool story bro post.

Your Voice Amplified 55 C Collateral
    Gold ADDY® Award
Your Voice Amplified 78 B Art Direction
    Gold ADDY® Award
    Your Voice Amplified y 79 B Copywriting
    Silver ADDY® Award
Best of Show – Art Direction: “Your Voice Amplified” Brochure

The Davey Award is an award for small ad agencies. I won Silver last year, but this year I did better than I ever thought I would. 4,000 entries. I got Best of Show for print collateral. Mine is the first one!

That's super! I won a few Telly Awards for my films. Feels good to be recognized. Only thing I don't like is you end up paying for the statue, at least in the Telly case. Still good to put on your resume though. I think they all come from the same company.

CONGRATS! I've won quite a few Addy awards, both Gold and Silver for my print work back in the 90's. I know exactly how you feel!!

Though you may be pushing 50, winning those awards show that your design and creativity remains strong, fresh and competitive among those trendy designers in the market today. That's double kudos for you!!

Here's what my mother said when I finished "Beyond the Garden Gate":

"That's very pretty, but it won't go anywhere. You should concentrate on getting a real job."

Then the film won two Telly Awards and I got it on PBS for four years. I sent her and my sister DVD copies as Easter gifts. :-)

Sorry, I had to throw my dysfunctional family in there. icon_wink.gif

I remember when I started trying to explain to my parents what I did. My mom said "so you pick colors?"
