Charged with what? Being a hero victimized by the liberal media and race-baiters?

In the past, Zimmerman has been arrested for domestic violence and for assaulting a police officer. An employer also terminated him for overly aggressive behavior.

    Nothing came of it.

This time, he was heard following an unarmed teenager, who he racially profiled as up to no good, despite being advised not to do so. That unarmed teenager ended up being shot dead yards from his father's front door. The lead investigator believed Zimmerman should have been charged -- the police chief and prosecutor disagreed, accepting Zimmerman's story that an unarmed teenager attacked him for no reason and with intent to kill.

Right-wing blogs then decided to smear the dead kid's name, publishing fake "thuggish" photos of him, bringing up the victim's school suspensions and experimentation with marijuana as a justification for his homicide, and attempting to distract with false equivalencies about black-on-black crime.

This spectacle has probably ruined the case. Not holding my breath on any charges.

There is no evidence that he was racially profiled. You keep repeating this ad nauseum as though there was some evidence out to substantiate it.

I'm pleased that he is being charged, though I'm concerned that the shoddy police work and media spectacle may make it hard to convene a jury and prosecute the case.

I'm guessing he'll be charged with manslaughter/second degree murder.

Still, it's a win for the Martin family and citizens concerned with justice.

Sad that leaving it up to a jury to decide whether a homicide is justifiable or not would be considered a "win," but welcome to Florida where people think that it makes perfect sense for children to chloroform themselves, duct tape own mouths, hide their own decomposing bodies in a trunk, then discard their own dead body in the woods while their "grieving" mother parties for a month. Because clearly, no one else is responsible for this. Clearly.

Biggest losers: Right-wing lunatics who think that the existence of black-on-black crimes means that the killings of unarmed teenagers don't deserve full investigation.

You are such an ASS. Clearly, your agenda here is to just spread false information and cause trouble. The killing of THIS unarmed teenager did deserve investigation, the investigation is completed, and charges are going to be filed accordingly. This is how our justice system works -- and in Florida, in accordance with their insane "stand your ground" law, this is how it was done. George Zimmerman will be judged by a jury of his peers, as is any American charged with a crime. Let the chips fall where they may.

You're conveniently leaving out that there would have been no investigation and no charges without public pressure.

(And that the right-wing opposed that pressure and those charges primarily through a smear campaign against Trayvon.)

As usual, CJAZ resorts to personal attacks and name-calling when he runs out of arguments, which in his case is pretty much every day for him.

Of course, CJAZ is not going to admit that were it not for public pressure -- public pressure which his buddies on the fringe right tried to undermine -- there would have been no charges, and no case.

He hasn't forgotten this: he is just intellectually dishonest and morally bankrupt. The fringe right wingers who consider Zimmerman a hero -- and who tried, unsuccessfully, to smear Trayvon Martin and change the conservative to black-on-black crime and other things have nothing to do with this case -- have exposed themselves with their vile behavior. It is telling that CJAZ continues to lash out against those of us who called for the process to work as it should have, instead of calling out the right-wingers to tried to deny justice to Trayvon Martin.

More false rantings by you. Does it ever stop? Please cite a single "Fringe Right Winger" who considers Zimmerman "a Hero". Prove that you are anything other than the real "intellectually dishonest" one here. You're full of shit. You want nothing but to spread misinformation and bait. You're painfully obvious.

I'm sure Trayvon's parents are relieved. I'm glad to see that Zimmerman can get life in prison if convicted.

Fortunately, this is now out of the hands of the media, liberals, and black racists. George will have a strong defense. He wil have strong support in the courtroom.

Well conviction or not, it's out of our hands. But just to get a charge is a victory of sorts against all people who think it's okay to shoot unarmed teenagers, claim self-defense, and then become indignant when people ask questions.

Good on all for those who called for a FULL investigation and who protested and cried out to make sure Trayvon's voice was heard. He says it was self-defense, fine. Let him have his fair trial and show it in court. A homicide with this many questions merits at least that.

    CJAZ,

You strike me as the type of bigot who says how he really feels in private. You're too concerned about appearances to reveal your dirty secrets. If your conversations with your fellow bigot friends were recorded, I'm sure playing back the recordings would show a very partial CJAZ who has "lovely" things to say about Trayvon Martin and black people in general.

Oh, and please don't deny ever having uttered a prejudiced word in your life. You'd have to be a god to be prejudice-free. And you're clearly not.

Can Zimmerman count on having strong support in the courtroom from white racists like yourself? icon_lol.gif

It's nice to see that the pursuit of fair and equal justice is back on track.
    In this case at least.

It's just too bad that the FL "justice" system had to be shamed into doing the right thing.

You do not know me, or anything about me. I have not said a single derogatory thing about Trayvon Martin. I think what happened to him is a tragedy. Sorry, but wanting to know all the facts before rushing to judgement does NOT make one a racist -- Period. This whole case has become a great big circus, and that is really unfortunate. However, bad behavior and bigotry has come from both sides -- also unfortunate. Things like what has been spewed from these so-called "New Black Panthers" have not helped

Yes. Corey is if anything predictable. I assue you she was surpised to learn this evening that George has new counsel. Mark O'Mara. Mr. O'Mara also now has resources.

But I'm off the point. My guess would be Corey is looking for a plea so she does not have to go to trial. Charge George with 2nd degree murder and plea down to manslaughter.

I also suspect she pulled back from the grand jury because she knew she woulds not get an indictment on 2nd degree murder.

From here, the defense team will have to decide whether they go for an evidentiary hearing to dismiss. Florida's Supreme Court ruled hat a defendant has the right to an evidentiary hearing of dismissal based upon "stand-your-ground." Corey is going to have to show her hand before trial and discovery. In this case. Se Marin is dead, she'll have to attack George head on without examining him on the stand.

There is risk in the above. It's a high burden to prove on O'Mara's part. He is however, no light weight.

Tracy Martin 'sounded' something true, "we have a long way to go."
