I've been hearing for a while that there's this one day in April that allows same sex partners to be married and actually be legal in Florida. I've been doing research but have found nothing.

I'm really interested in finding out about this event. It's been on Facebook, over the news, radio stations, but I have no luck finding anything.

If you know about this event or have a link to a website I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much (:pet.gif

It is false information. The State of Florida does not permit them nor recognize them from states that allow them at this time. It was a constitutional amendment passed a few years ago.

Nothing to see here, move along. Just a crazy rumor. Or the work of a troll.

If this were true, it would be big news and you would have no trouble finding a link on your own.

Yep, that's true: on the first day of April. Also known as April's Fool.

It will be a while before Florida legalizes gay marriage, it will probably be the Supreme Court that eventually forces Florida (and many other states) to recognize it.

Agreed, especially considering that we only recently got the right to adopt children, an issue forced by the courts.

It's fucking 2012 and Florida doesn't trust gay people to raise children lovingly and properly. I lived here for family and now because, well, I've been here since high school but in my heart? Fuck Florida for not treating us as human beings.
