I am not really a fan of either, but I will listen to bad romance on occasion. So Lady Gaga.

If you've seen his other two threads, they're all newb threads and all of them the kind of threads that turn into flame wars. He'll learn soon enough and graduate to more important threads like "the guy above you..." and "post pics of hot local news anchors".

They are both amazing, talented & smart women.

I'd say 'technically' Gaga is a more talented vocalist whereas Madonna is a more talented dancer/performer.

Since when did having a good voice matter? Kim Carnes, Debbie Harry, Marianne Faithfull, Rod Stewart, Lotte Lenya, etc etc etc etc

It doesn't really and notice how I used the word 'technically'. Mariah Carey has a technically better voice than most singers because she has a greater range but it doesn't mean I prefer her voice to someone like Madonna or Debbie Harry.

mayBbignow saidDidnt both of them have albums that can be considered flops?

Neither have really had 'flop' albums but I just read this interesting fact:

"Madonna's new album, "MDNA," is now in the record books the largest second-week percentage sales drop for a No. 1-debuting album since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991, according to Billboard.

This week, the album slid from No. 1 to No. 8 on the Billboard 200 with an 86.7% sales decline. It debuted with 359,000 copies sold, but sold only 48,000 copies in its second week, according to SoundScan.

That beats the record set by Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which fell 84.27% during its second week on the charts last year. "Born This Way" debuted with 1.11 million copies moved and then sold 174,000 in its second week."

    Meh, fuck the charts !

They are both awful in 2012, but at least Madonna had a lot of great tracks between 1983 and 1990ish.
