    1) GSA - New revelations include Las Vegas and now Palm Springs. Interns treated lavishly, rooms described as opulent. All the videos of employees mocking their use of taxpayer dollars. And bonuses given to the junket organizers. Themes a) Incompetence of the Administration, a culture of non-accountability, b) Problems with big government, c) Stoking anger by voters which will persist. Attempting to counter to share blame with Bush will only anger voters more, demonstrating the Administration can't own up to anything.

    2) War on Moms - Rosen is the Democrats' Rush, but the difference is her extensive ties to the White House. Note the damage control with comments by Axlerod and Obama. What a laugh - Obama refers to Rosen as "someone on television", that someone having visited the White House numerous times. Who does he think he is fooling? But tie this to the other open mike comment on people clinging to their guns and their religion, and the theme of the Democratic elitism will stick. The irony and hypocrisy is the Democrats' support to feminism, which it turns out is only lip service. Feminism is about choice, but if the choice is to stay at home, it doesn't rank quite as high.

    3) Being flexible, transmitting an intended private message to Putin. Clearly not just a slip of the tongue, put a slip in exposing intentions. In 2009 Obama gave up a missile shield program to favor the Russians, without a quid pro quo, such as Iranian sanctions. Obama has already requested a study to cover his proposal that we reduce our nuclear stockpile by 80%. Might be reasonable if done by the Russians as well. But given his previous unilateral action and his naive world view, there is every expectation we would reduce weapons unilaterally, leaving the Russians 6,000 to the US 300. Would continue his willingness to weaken us in the world. His commitment to US security will be effectively challenged, raising significant doubts.

    4) Real Clear Politics polls show greater than a 10% spread with more favoring repeal of the Health Care law. (Rasmussen likely voters 14%, Quinnipiac registered voters 13%) That together with the Obama attack on the Supreme Court has led analysts to believe it is a lose situation for Obama regardless of the decision. Stay tuned for some very focused ads.

You hit this nail directly on its head !!!

I sincerely doubt the public voting in Romney over Obama, especially with the lacluster reception his own party is giving him.

As for SoCals wishfull thinking above, what a bunch of hogwash.

Those are the major factors. The points in the OP directly refer to trust, which you mentioned, as well as competence. They can't be ignored because they can either reinforce or chip away at the major points. That's why both sides have paid them a lot of attention.

Oooh.... Somebody's been bonin up on their rightwing talking points

OReilly and Hannity Much SoCal? icon_biggrin.gif

All you need to see is that the job numbers and the economic indicator numbers under Obama made a dramatic shift from negative to positive from where they where going before he took office and they are continuing that way
... LOL... much to you and your Bretons consternation

So UNLESS you and the rest of the republicans can cause another recession..... We know you're always up to it ..... Obama is going to win reelection

I'll make an exception and respond to you, which I normally don't. The job pct when Obama took office was 7.8%. He said the stimulus would keep it below 8%. Even the reduction from 8.3% to 8.2% was widely reported as resulting mostly from people stopping the job search. If you look at the percentage of people who consider the country on the wrong track and the possibility of gas prices continuing to remain high or go even higher, adversely impacting the economy even further, things don't bode all that well for Obama. So aside from your caveat about a recession, as if the Republicans could cause one between now and November not controlling the White House or Senate, your certainty of an Obama win reflects only on your foolishness. You aren't alone here, although you are among the more overt. If Romney wins, and I have the good sense to say "if" rather than "when", it will be interesting to see the bitter meltdowns among you more extremists.

The voter that matters is college educated white women who overwhelmingly support Obama. They dont like the attacks on womens rights from the right (contraception, abortion, etc).

Obama has the minority vote. Romney has the angry white male vote and uneducated white female.

The college educated white female is the important demographic. 58% supported Obama in 2008. 60% support Obama now.

Look for more GOP faux mommy wars leading up to Nov. because thats all the GOPs got.

I can see this is going to be a long slog until Obama's reelection. There isn't any reason to start a conversation like this......

Not a reason to have a conversation with those who are unable to acknowledge the inherent uncertainty at present. The folks in the know on both sides (with brains) when interviewed will acknowledge it is not going to be a slam dunk either way. So I will put a question to you this way: "After Obama's divisive campaign, wreaking of desperation with gas prices at an all time high, leading to a decisive defeat, will you guys finally have some self-reflection, or will you maintain bitterness?"
