WhoreMasterBlaster saidI have to admit, the video posted previously was a hard watch.
I really would like to become a vegetarian simply to step out supporting that type of wretched business. Those animals go through fucking awful treatment.
I'm going to start doing some research.
All I know is, I can't personally kill an animal just to get my protein. It's easy to eat a plate of chicken or other type of meat when I buy it frozen in the store. But honestly I'm feeling rather shitty about it. Do they have farmer's markets where you live? I love meat, but I hate CAFO (confined animal feeding operations). I only buy my beef/lamb/pork/chicken/eggs from small, pasture-based farms that I know.

7Famark saidPreparing separate meals, not agreeing on restaurants, and potentially feeling judgment over eating meat ARE all legitimate concerns. And yet they're not legitimate because that's an exaggerated stereotype understanding of vegetarians. When in relationships I've never had to prepare a separate meal (I just don't eat the meat, and drink a protein shake or something instead), can ALWAYS find SOMETHING to eat at basically ANY restaurant, and NEVER judge someone for eating meat. To say that you expect those three items to be legitimate concerns would be like a straight guy saying he couldn't ever be friends with any gays, because 1) they'd just try to sex him, 2) they all have lisps and that gets on his nerves, 3) all they like to do is go shopping.

First of all, that isn't a valid comparison at all because it is based on an innacurate stereotype of the gay community...my opinion isn't based on a sterotype of vegetarians, I am sure there are plenty of people that are in relationships with people that don't eat the same way that they do...my opinion is based on how I believe I would feel if I were to be dating a vegetarian. My point is, regardless of whether or not you'd just "find something else to eat" or "find something to eat at some restaurant"...that implies that there's a compromise there that would make me uncomfortable because I would feel like the other person wouldn't be enjoying themselves. I know that at vegetarian/vegan restaurants there are wide varieties of more "exciting" foods, whereas at a place that doesn't necessarily specialize in that it may be limited to a salad or something that is sort of boring and not as appealing...and nobody wants to eat a salad, or a plate of steamed vegetables all the time.

I live in Chicago, I don't know of any but there might be some in the suburbs. Honestly, I don't really care for the taste of meat. I just eat it because I feel like I can function better cognitively speaking. If I could have the level of energy, mental alertness, and supply my body with the level of protein to support my workouts and bodybuilding goals I'd let go of meat. I honestly do like fruits and veggies more. But I do have to say, the females in my family have high cholesterol issues and are vegetarian. So regarding familial genetics, diet doesn't seem to help or influence cardiovascular health. It's probably an issue related to imbalanced hormones (since the women are the oldest people in my family) and would probably benefit from hormone replacement therapy.

But how you would feel is based on absurd stereotypes of vegetarians. You seem to think, like most meat eaters in this thread it would seem, that it's some sort of big struggle or huge part of a vegetarian's life when that couldn't be father from the truth. One of the guys I dated didn't even realize until a month in that I was a vegetarian. There's no big "compromise" about meals or whatever. If one doesn't eat meat... then one simply doesn't eat the meat. True, there are vegetarians who seem to be more in it for the "look at me, I'm doing something different than you, so there!" attitude. But those people, by and large, stop being vegetarian relatively shortly. Unfortunately, yes, they give the rest of us a bad name. whereas at a place that doesn't necessarily specialize in that it may be limited to a salad or something that is sort of boring and not as appealing...and nobody wants to eat a salad, or a plate of steamed vegetables all the time. I'm pretty sure that I haven't had to choose a salad or a plate of steamed vegetables... ever. And I never eat out at exclusively vegetarian places. There's always something reasonable to eat. But anyway, I don't understand why we're having a reasonable discussion on a thread that was just meant to troll. Though I must admit, it does amuse me to see 50+ year olds trying to troll as if they were in their teens.

I hunt and preserve my own game as the seasons permit.
But I do my best to research local ranchers and growers who do not use GMO feedstock or inject hormones into their livestock.
Given how pervasive food tampering is here in the USA due to corporate interests, there is no 100% solution (as many of the veggies one might eat are also affected by GMO meddling and if you don't buy fresh, it only multiplies with preservatives and the like.

Dude, you know what - fuck you...I'm not attacking or trying to stereotype vegetarians (sure I got into an argument with Augustine)...but I feel like I am entitled to feel whatever way I want to about dating a vegetarian...
If you've never had to have a salad or a plate of vegetables, congratulations.

Why would I respond positively to a comment made by someone I was literally just arguing with? Like, call me princess all you want but that makes no fucking sense.
