I tend to get ingrown hair everywhere on my body, but recently have been dealing with the deeeepest ingrown hair, ever. Its on my waist line, right above my wang. It started to inflamed into a pimple and I eventually popped it, let it go down. Now its a tremendous red mark, and I made it worst my cutting into it with a toothpick, trying to get the hair out from underneath the skin. I think I waited to long to do it, and cant successfully locate the hair to pop it out. I think I very faintly see the outline of a hair under the skin.

What should I do now!!!? Idk if I should rip into the wound and try to get the hair out or just let it heal, and wait for it to inflame again? I have been to the dermatologist numerous times for ingrown hairs, and they werent any help. They said dont touch it, leave it alone. But I also had a doctor tell me it will continue to be a problem until I get that hair out. I am pretty sure I just created a scar, PLEASE HELPPPicon_exclaim.gif

I have the exact same problem. I'd suggest letting it heal. Someone told me that exfoliating helps (always exfoliate in the direction of hair growth to stimulate the hair to grow out). I exfoliate with a luffa 3X a week, but I still get some.

PERFECT REMEDY!!!!!!!!!!! Immediately after shaving, trimming, ect. Clean the area and rub with hydrocortisone cream! The cream "thins" the skin and allows the hair to "pop" through instead of turning downward. GURANTEE it will work. I have been using it for years on the under side of my chin and on my ass after waxes.icon_razz.gif

I usually exfoliate before shaving with a tea tree oil and a grainy substance I got at Lush.

However, if you want to completely remove all dead skin cells, look into the Moroccan black soap.

Here's a thought. Quit shaving your body hair. Some of us like it.

I'm sure you used sterile toothpicks to do that icon_razz.gif
