I have a workouts with exercises that I usually perform in a given order. After a few weeks I will change the workouts, sometimes including changing the exercise order. I know how to change the order of exercises for this purpose. But suppose on a given day, I need to change the order of exercises because of equipment availability in the gym. No problems cycling through the exercises or going back to the list and selecting any exercise. But is there any way to note a different order for a particular session?

Reason I ask is this. When using my notebook, I write down the order as I perform them. The next time when I want to see how I did previously, knowing the order is important. For example, say I normally do Lying Close-Grip Triceps Extension Behind the Head (skull crusher) first and and Triceps Pushdown second. But today because of equipment availability, I do the Pushdown first. I find if I do an exercise of a group earlier, I can generally do better than I would if performed later within the same group. In this case the next time I do the Pushdown as the second exercise, I would like to know that last time I did it earlier, so I might not do as well this time.

Any suggestions how to note this that would be easily accessible to both note it this time and later see it during the next session of the workout?

    Thanks

I wrote the developers of FitnessFast about adding the capability of editing workouts on the fly, and they said they are working on it. That was months ago though.

This is part of the reason I recommend GymBuddy over FitnessFast, even though GymBuddy is not still supported. FitnessFast is the next best thing, but it's not quite there yet.

Thanks for the reply. I read many of the comments on the iTunes on both and saw many had left GymBuddy because of problems with the newer iOS versions because of the lack of support. Your suggestion is a good one. As far as documenting exercise order within a muscle group on a given day when it deviates from the normal order, seems like a difficult thing to implement.

In the OP, I only wrote it from the negative perspective, but looking at it the other way, if I'm performing an exercise today as the first one in a muscle group, and last time it was third, I would not be satisfied if I did not do better this time.
