I Let My Haters be My Motivators

So I log on to my adam4adam site one day and out of nowhere I get an email from someone I never hit up calling me "gross" and after that dude after dude keept giving me all kind of shit about how my bod looks, lol, but instead of taking it as a negative. I decided I'm gonna use it as motivation to train my ass off, and to really kick the shit out of my opponent next time I spar in kickboxing. Anyone else share this philosophy?

If I ever post anything hateful towards you in these threads, remember I'm only doing it because I care.

So rather than leave a website that's full of shallow, pretentious, mean guys.....you're going to change yourself to please them so you can gain their acceptance? Yup, sounds perfectly healthy to me. icon_rolleyes.gif

I've taken this approach since I was a child and with quite positive results.

Your first mistake is taking anything that vapid shallow queens say on A4A with anything more than a grain of salt.

That said, kudos to you for doing something positive about it. icon_smile.gif

If ever anyone starts talking about me I'm a mix of confused as to why they'd waste so much time on someone they barely or don't know; and flattered that somehow more than one person has decided to give me more attention than I'm willing to give them. It's one thing if they were in a conversation with me, or I'd spoken to them... but quite see how I can make an assumption on a total stranger I've never said a word to? Anyways. I just got back from the gym an hour ago. Got a lot of my frustration out! Started on low level weights, and kicked my butt!

Good for you! I tend to not be as constructive in my approach.

One time a local homo on the Hunt of Man website totally went off on me about dancing too flamboyantly and femininely at the club and how I was such a fucking faggot and made the rest of "us" all look bad.

After making a few comments about his personal insecurity about his sexuality and role as a gay man in the world, his hypocrisy in not posting a face pic, and several other common responses, he shut up real quickly. I guess I tend to try and destroy an offending person, rather than make something positive out of the situation. Perhaps I should try and change that..

I deleted my Manhunt and A4A accounts about 5 years ago. Meet some great guys through them, but they were both such a constant source of stress, I'm glad I gave them up.

Every post I have ever read about them is something negative and ridiculous.

Ha. The fact that you even let the negativity affect you is concerning, but at least you are trying to focus it in a positive direction.

I only met one guy off A4A many years ago. It was actually a pleasant first date until he turned psycho afterwards. Awesome!

At RealJock we like to say, "Visit our competitors first and when you can't find a boyfriend there, come to us to complain about it."

Maybe I'm doing life wrong, because I only have one person that I know of that openly hates me.
