A woman and a man were staying at a Novato motel last week and needed some emergency assistance of the most embarrassing variety.
Police officers arrived at the America’s Best Value Inn on Redwood Boulevard at 1:33 p.m. March 25 to assist the couple with an awkward situation. The woman, 51, and the man, 41, had been "playing" — a word used in the official police call log — and the woman could not find the key to a set of handcuffs.
Lucky for them, one handcuff key opens most sets of handcuffs, according to a police source.
The man was freed, but mysteriously the police log doesn't say whether it was the woman or an officer who unlocked the restraints.
