It's pretty amusing to read those because they're usually so vague..

"you were the hot guy in the white shirt. I think we made eye contact. I was the cute guy in the blue shirt. Tell me what shoes I was wearing so I know it's you"

I've gotten two. One from a woman at the checkout line at the grocery store (pun intended), which was flattering since I could tell who it came from, and another from someone who works on my floor at work, which was vague, so therefore sort of creepy.

If I was looking at his crotch then there is a good chance he wasn't wearing any shoes icon_biggrin.gif

I read them for amusement too, but one day I was at Trader Joes and I guess a guy thought I was checking him out (when I wasn't).

He described me in his post... so I took a screen shot on my computer cause I found it pretty hilarious.

I don't think it was creepy at all, a bit flattering actually. I emailed him back, but he wasn't cute icon_neutral.gif

I find them interesting to read, and yes some of them are stalkerish or delusional. In fact, there is an equally interseting blog devoted to illustrations based on these ads.

I saw you in Kroger on April 15 at the U-scan check outs. You were wearing a flannel blue plaid shirt, levi jeans 32 waist, 34 inseam, and a Texas-shaped belt buckle. I looked at you and then you looked at me. I just wanted to let you know- you were wearing a black belt with brown boots.

I had one a few years ago in Seattle, I had been out cycling and someone wrote something about seeing me in a coffee shop, described me and my bike, said they'd wished they had the nerve to say hi. I answered it and told them next time don't be such a pussy. Strangely, I never heard back.

    Another stalker ad:

I saw you standing near the Main Street bridge in front of the Jacksonville skyline. You had a beard and were wearing dark blue shorts, a white cap, no shirt. You were posing for a camera. I was off to the side, drooling and holding binoculars.icon_twisted.gif

I post Missed Connections for myself all the time... ok, I've done it today because it seemed like a good idea but I think I might start doing it all the time because it brought me joy.
It's the online equivalent of sending myself flowers.
    Today I did both...
...the daffodils on my desk are lovely.

I think they're ok if there's some reason you can't really connect with the person IN person at that moment. I posted one once and got a date out of it - I was working but there was a really really cute guy checking me out, but it would have been really inappropriate for me to stop what I was doing to chat him up, ask him out, etc. So we just sort of played eye tag and then met up later. It was kinda cool.

I thought this one was stupid:

You were on your cell phone in a T-shirt and shorts standing on the corner on Sunday evening and I was driving past. We seemed to click when we looked at each other. Let me know what kind of car I was driving and if I was with anyone else.

Then there's this one that just sounds stalkilisious:

You're the younger doorman at numbers, the one that para everyone down.. I think you're cute and would love to get to know you, but I guess I get nervous when I see you and can't talk ... Anyways maybe you'll see this maybe you won't ... Or I will see you next weekend

    lol!

I think they're generally hilarious... If it weren't for that forum, I would have had no idea how much action was going on in the steam room, sauna, showers, and occasionally even the changing room of the gym chain I used to belong to.
