I made the thread above about a few weeks back I believe. Anyhow haven't seen the kid on bus in several days. Today I finally saw him when I got out of class to get home. He actually said hello and sat next to me. I didn't notice if any of the other guys that were picking on him that day were riding the same route as us. But he was just telling me about how he's into computers and excited about his class trip or something. I just feel like I genuinely made a difference in someone's life, and it feels so good. I want to get involved in activism and stick up for those cannot stick up for themselves.icon_redface.gif

Why stop at one and when the opportunity shows up? Start now. There are many youth who need mentors out in the world today. And if you can't donate time, think about volunteering time at a youth program some place. You've done good, heck, awesome, so keep going!

As it has been said, "be the change you want to see in the world."

    Peace,
    Bardy

You saved his life, if it wasn't for you I think the kid could have done something very stupid.

That's an awesome thing to do. There are a lot of programs that you can look into that probably have something local for you. Good luck on future endeavors!

I read your post about that ageeees back! And it's nice that you've updated us on the situation! icon_smile.gif

I think it's utterly awesome and one of the kindest things I've ever heard anybody admit to on this site. I think your inspirational and a great role model to look up to.

I wish I had a role model like you when I was a kid, I had a rough time...still on the bad end of depression/anxiety, and atempted to commit suicide multiple times and 'dabbled' with self-harming. Thankfully I didn't do it as I'm still alive and because the curtain pole I tried to kill myself on broke! haha (I have to have a sense of humour about these things).

A poster above me said that you might just have stopped that kid from doing something 'stupid' to himself, you may have just saved him from some of the difficulty that I went through. Keep looking after that kid, you'll probably change his life.
