I have over 1,600 friends from college, high school and other random organizations I've been apart of...And for the most part, Facebook has been great, because of all the friends, I see a ton of news stories, funny pictures, media campaigns, etc...

    But I deleted it.

It's been about two weeks now, and I've seriously haven't looked back at all. I love not having Facebook. It's absolutely amazing -- whenever I want to waste time, I can't!

    Would you ever? Have you?

    Never had a Facebook account.

It seems to be losing popularity. Can't say I'll miss hearing about.

I find it's a great tool to keep in contact with people, but my privacy settings are locked down.

Never had a real need for it. All my family/friends are local. So I keep in touch with them regularly in person, texting, and email. Not interested in reconnecting with random people from the past.

I do have a facebook account but I only use it for dating. It's easily the best gay dating website in Malta.

If you want to delete your account, you must defeat your account by competing in the game of both emperors and thieves alike, yahtzee... ping pong is also an acceptable substitution I believe.

I feel as if I have real friends on Facebook, even though I've never actually met any of them.
I don't feel that way, at all, here on RealJock.

You got it, i had a breach on mine and found this out the hard way. Its not fool proof but in order to get out you need to delete every single friend, Individually, every single photo, individually and all your own posts, individually. Then delete your old email account, it goes on and on and on

At best, in the end the public have very little info available after that, Facebook however has your info forever.
My new account has a different version of my name and I also have a naughty facebook account, funny the naughty one has been a source of finding many RJ guys pics being used without their knowledge.

I just deactivated mine today, feels great to be off of it. I'll be off for a few weeks and see how it goes. So far it's a bit liberating icon_smile.gif

I only have 10 people on FB, all of which I've known in person at the absolute very least for 5 years (the rest 10-15, up to 20 years and a couple select cousins all my life). I've been blessed to have met many RJ'ers in person so I feel a connection to those, and several others I've yet to meet.

hahaha Then that would bring about the end all of facebook, you would be hailed as a hero by some but viewed as a villain by others. IT IS YOUR DESTINY CHOOSE WISELY

I'm not gonna delete it (or deactivate), because I use it too much to organize my personal life and I would miss out on a lot. I manage my friends list very strictly in order to weed out all the dumb people. Just yesterday I deleted every woman who feels the need to talk about her kid every single day about the stupdiest things. Stuff like that.

JPtheBITCH saidSorry, I don't quite get the equation Facebook = evil but RJ = worthwhile.
    lmfao seriously
i also don't get why people who stop using facebook act like they're a better person for it. whoopie, you now have more free time to spend masturbating, watching television, reading a book, or one of the other millions of things you can do for leisure.

First of all, "stupdiest" isn't a word. Secondly, if it were a word it would be spelled "stupidest".
Sounds like you should delete yourself off your friend list.

If I had 1,600 friends, I don't think I'd miss Facebook either. Why would you add that many friends?

I don't think that's true. They have predicted Facebook will reach 1b users this year...
